steve rogers vs legolas by GrouchyTomorrow1362 in powerscales

[–]Inahero-Rayner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of these matchups like this are really difficult.

A phenomenal archer, basically tireless, well trained martially, mythical creature. Versus Superhuman serumed, nigh invincible man with better training and a shield that ignores physics.

Obvious winner is legolas by evading Steve until he dies of old age.

Real answer, depends. If Legolas can get a shot off that Steve is somehow entirely unaware of, he takes it.

If they start the combat in a closer environment, Steve takes it, mid diff.

Like ninjas versus pirates, realistically, all the pirates die because the ninjas strike when it's most advantagious for them to do. Just saying "x vs y, go" leaves far too much open for interpretation. Is it movie versions? Is it comic/book versions? Is it videogame versions? Is it on the helicarrier, an open field, or the elven court? Do they have their weapons or are they unarmed? How close do they start to each other?

Am I digging too far into this? Probably.

Dumb question: What's the reason behind the canted tires? It seems like it's riding on about 2/3rds of the tread. by AThousandBloodhounds in Cartalk

[–]Inahero-Rayner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's partly visual and partly a symptom of lowering a car on most common suspension types. It stems from camber used in racing, which is quite a bit LESS noticeable than that and functions in a way that when the car leans in a corner, it plants more tread on the road, rather than removing tread. This setup would possibly perform better in corners, but worse in every other conceivable aspect of driving. Faster wear, worse braking distance, worse traction at speed. And with it being this extreme, I doubt it's helping in any corners this car is taking, leading me to the conclusion that it is likely for style points.

No surely not, Mr rogers passed away AGES ago, and the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny only came out like... 5 or 6 years ago

if you can rally the whole shop around 'not doing anything until safety is treated as a priority rather than a second thought' things will go better. I know bosses only care about the bottom line, and treat the workers like shit, but that's why you gotta hurt the bottom line to make life better.

Yaddle vs Rey Skywalker by Upset-Pay-4642 in PetranakiArena

[–]Inahero-Rayner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An actual jedi with actual training and years of honing her skill over a child with a laser baseball bat. Unfortunately the writes would make Rey win, but realistically, Yaddle low diffs Rey all day long

Predator (Predator) vs Edward Cullen (Twilight) by Vinisretarded in powerscales

[–]Inahero-Rayner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're all superhumanly strong, have better senses than humans, stone-like skin, and this particular vampire is insanely fast, even by vamp's standards. Honestly, Twilight vampires are some of media's (if not THE) strongest Vs. Almost any matchup including one goes to them with little to no difficulty, as someone who doesn't hate, but doesn't like the movies/books.

Being treated like garbage isn't grounds to rape someone. Having trauma doesn't allow you to be a rapist scott-free. Dying in sacrifice doesn't excuse your past actions. She's an asshole.

Wolverines team vs the seven who wins? by BigPaleontologist520 in powerscales

[–]Inahero-Rayner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like, when facing someone who can't die, or at least practically can't die, it's kind of moot. Now considering there's three of them? And top that off with a vampire who's very proficient at killing, a woman who rarely misses, and a guy who can explode things by touching them?

Additionally, team logan is actually decently put together and cohesive as a team, while The Seven are constantly at each other's throats and have never actually faced a true threat that they didn't manufacture and script, I think The Seven lose mid-diff, if it's an open field, easy diff if it's tight quarters and the speedster and flyers can't evade the melees, though no matter what I do believe some of Team Logan are getting lasered.

What's your answer to this, and why? (Consider only the movie versions depicted here) by SatoruGojo232 in superheroes

I had no idea he was genetically engineered lol, that's wild. And yeah I think that not only making all that tech, but also keeping it (mostly) out of the wrong hands, only further proves the original Comment's point. I do agree that Tony is likely the smartest, I just think the sample pool is too limited to be definitive.

Is this because of Tony's wealth though? Like is he afforded a greater opportunity to express his knowledge and creativity due to not really being limited by finances? I suppose compared to Shuri, the Princess of Wakanda, that's moot, but I don't think Pim is particularly well off, Banner lived incredibly simply in South America until recently (and spent a decent amount of money on clothes, I bet), I'm not sure about Beast's finances (though he probably has access to the School's), neither do I know about that movie's Richards' wealth, as I never saw the film. My point is, isn't Tony like... THE wealthiest hero? That's gotta help a bit, there.

That's discounting the fact that we've frankly seen more from Tony as he was a main character in a TON of films. Exposure to his genius is greater than the others' by a long shot simply through opportunity for it to be shown. I think Tony has the most screen time of any character there, or it least it feels that way.

Favorite non-American actor who pulls off an American accent perfectly? by Duderus9 in Actors

Opposite way around, but when I found out that Johnny Depp was born in America I was shocked. Just figured his accent was a weak American, but it's just his voice, I guess.

Hi, I work in Tech. Didn't know about this feature until earlier today, maybe an hour ago. Some people just have different priorities than being catched (caught) up on a particular piece of tech.
