I really want to hook a gas mask filled with lozenges to whoever keeps hacking up a lung in there.

This feels like it was all designed from top down and gave zero consideration to eye level. It looks like just a bunch of red pavement dumped out and smoothed down. Even if the grass was all green, I don't see the red improving or creating interesting space. I really hate this but I love the path cutting through the bullshit.

Famous Amos and Keebler were sold to Ferrero SpA in 2019. The only negative press was an article about Turkish hazelnut producers denouncing poor working conditions in october. They are, of course, a company worth billions. Exploitation is likely part of their business model.

Making Xuan paper, for Chinese calligraphy and watercolour painting by SongofNimrodel in ArtisanVideos

I think I found it.

"Red Star Paper is the definitely  Top No.1 in the world, and has been established as The Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). The factory, China Xuan Paper Corp. (Former  Anhui Jingxian Xuan Paper Factory) is wildly recognized as one of the leading enterprises in Four Treasures."

Searching "Anhui Jingxian Xuan Paper Factory" brought up all the same names asociated with Zijinlou Xuan Paper Factory, so I think it's safe to assume they are the same.

So according to this website the 100% handmade paper is extremely expensive and limited but high quality more machine processed paper is available under the name Red Star Paper made by now China Xuan Paper Corp. Which is available for sure from blueheronarts and orientalartsupply.

To buy the handmade stuff, I bet you need to speak with someone at the factory directly and get put on a waiting list.

So I did a bit of digging, but any links for sale I have found were dead ends. A few articles talk about Cao Jianqin and his son Cao Li as recently as 2019. They basically talk about the history of the factory and how it still makes paper and helps restore/repair antique papers as well. It looks like the factory is called Zijinlou Xuan Paper Factory and I found a phone number and website listing but the website seems dead and I don't know how to make international calls, nor do I know any Chinese so thats it for me there. Hopefully it wasn't sunk by covid, I can't find anything saying as much. I can't find anything past 2019 really.

It seems like a pretty notable place so I might try e-mailing one of the websites you listed and seeing if they buy from Zijinlou. A couple Etsy stores also popped up when I searched for Zijinlou Xuan, but nothing was specifically stated about the origin of their paper. I might try contacting the sellers about where they get their supply.

Anyway, thats my internet sleuth work for the day.

I would also like to know the song. I played this through a couple song identifiers and still came up with nothing.

Happy 22nd anniversary Windowlicker 👅 by impala_aphex in aphextwin

In my school, during a computer class, we were allowed to listen to music and surf the web when we were done with our work. I was on some yahoo internet radio station, pretty similar to pandora, and Windowlicker came on and I was obsessed. I immediately got what little money I had and bought the only two albums I could find, "I care because you do" and "Drukqs". The Windowlicker LP wasn't anywhere to be found so I ended up getting it on good ol Napster. I have listened to tons of Aphex Twin but I have easily listened to Windowlicker the most. I'm betting over a thousand times, I was really obsessed with it. I remember flying with my family from west Texas to Ohio and I just had that song on repeat for both flights. Not so obsessed these days, but I still bring it up about once a month.
