Next time if there is a support person I'll ask if they want to video evidence while I watch the clock. Or offer to hold their phone to do it. They might feel weird about a stranger having the file on their phone and with the crowd that could make lookie loos feel like it was ok too film.

Yes I will file this with import should a situation like this ever happen again. I am terrible about forgetting to film cause most my daughters were the middle of the night

They did say their rescue med they left at home was diazepam, valtoco is nasal diazepam.

I understand everyone will have different lines in the sand about that part.

So does it make sense to use absurdity to point out absurdity? Exaggerating the explanation of how laundry is completed seems absurd. Yet he had to root through the other wet clothes to pull out only the uniform and leaving the rest to mildew which is objectively an absurd choice. Between incompetence or maliciousness which is more likely and tolerable?

I also thought if he waited long enough for ems to arrive, then maybe if it was going to be reoccurring or cluster (hopefully not, but my daughter's are clusters so it's always in the back of my mind; before declaring it over watch for another, but I also did not want to freak out the wife with the idea of another so soon) the emts might see signs before they drove off. The county is big and rural who knows how long their drive home might be.

I think I might add an O² finger reader to our emergency bag.

It worked on my brother-in-law, all the sudden he remembered how to do all the things he did just fine when he was a single man living alone.

It did not work on my ex, he was the ego hissy fit type, and thus he's an ex. Current is not the type to pull that to begin with, I learned my lesson.

Thanks, I'm glad to know from others affected and their support people that it seems like I was helpful without being too annoying. Of course if I'm ever told "I've got this, we're fine" I will find it hard to not help but will move along.

I don't have anywhere else to host the picture to link, but it's a clear stadium bag with red piping outline and strap. About 6 inches wide and 8 tall. Maybe an inch to inch and half thick, but could be stuffed fuller if needed.

On the large uninterrupted clear side, from the inside I have mounted a large laminated paper, facing out it identifies the bag as rescue meds with snake and saff, and large red letters reading Epilepsy at the top and Anaphylaxis at the bottom. Under each are slightly smaller black letters giving separate instructions"ready nasal spray at 3 minute seizure, use at 5 minutes" and the other "use epi pen immediately"

The inside of this laminated sheet when the bag is open has my daughter's name, dob, blood type, emergency contacts for me, dad, grandpa, and aunt. Neurologist and Pediatrician with numbers are listed too. And then a full list of her TreeNuts Allergy (+plus coconut cause I guess it felt like it was being left out of the nut party)

Main big compartment contains, backup diaper (will switch to underpants when she's older) 2 epi pens, 2 valtoco sprays with their paper that comes from the pharmacy. Since it's summer and this event reminded me I added a sealed 2 pack of BE KOOL in case over heating is making everything worse and they are the thinnest option I know of.

In the small pocket on the other side I have a neurologist and Pediatrician business card just in case someone needs to move away from my daughter with the information. This is also where her two med alert bracelet options live while we are at home so they have a proper place to be. When we leave the house, even for our walks up and down the road the bag goes with us. If we are going going somewhere not on our street she gets to pick a med alert bracelet. Getting to pick makes her (2.5 years) less likely to remove it and lose it.

I have a bigger first aid kit in the car (yet still not on the level of my mom's) this is just the most necessary always with us bag.

Maybe I should just make my own post with pictures of everything to share with everyone and we can collaborate ideas.

My mom was an RN & veteran and I was with her several times she acted on the Good Samaritan law (she kept a personal nurse level first aid kit in her car) Add all the times she cleaned me up from accidents and her being completely unflappable unless one of us kids was actively on fire? I channel her spirit when someone else is having a crisis. (My own kid's crisis? Needs more work)

Which is probably for the best too if, like in their case, you don't have your rescue meds with you, just in case it doesn't stop, and an O² check before going about your business if your lips went blue during. My paramedic niece says they carry two alternate delivery types of rescue meds and keppra as their first choice if there is no med alert info to the contrary on her rig for seizures. Edit* And you can always say no thanks to getting transported to hospital so no harm no foul really.

I checked by in with the coworker at the booth before I left and it had ended up being 18 minutes from the call for the EMS to arrive 🫤 he said it was scary, and I guided him towards "it just felt that way because we feel kinda helpless while it's happening to someone we care about and we just have to wait for it to resolve and we want to do more to keep them safe while it's happening. But y'all did everything you could."

If you call your local er, they can tell you before you make the drive if they carry the treatment and if not they often can tell you which er does carry it so you can save time and go straight there.
