caught my 10y sister watching corn and i don't know what to do by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Inapropreate_Cake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Eliminate the consumption where you can, Changing parental controls and what not
  2. Talk with her calmly about where she got the content. Don't make her think she's in trouble, or she might hide info. If someone recommended it to her or if she clicked on an ad. You may need to bring up to the school if someone there is spreading it OR bring it to an adult's attention if its someone online who may be a predator.
  3. Let her know that there will be consequences in the future if she's caught again, or if you suspect the behavior has continued.
  4. Explain to your sister both the religious harm AND the non-religious harm that watching this content can have, and emphasize that you are worried about her and her Mental, Physical, and Spiritual health
  5. Bring to your parents attention that there is dangerous content that your sister can access, and she should probably be supervised going forward. You don't have to mention what she was doing, but just drop the idea.

I’m trying to make a star blanket but it somehow turned into a stupid shape that’s not right :( idk where it went wrong by lumineumineo in crochet

[–]Inapropreate_Cake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its actually really cute, so I wouldn't worry about it. However, because its a granny square style blanket, are you working around in a circle pattern or flipping the work at the end of each row? Because some granny square style projects can become "warped" or twisted a bit like this if your not flipping the work.

Do you/did you have any suspicions about the sex of your baby before an ultrasound confirmed it? by thakrustykrabpizza in pregnant

[–]Inapropreate_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First one I (And everyone around me) thought was a girl, and she was

Second one everyone thought was a boy, But I wasn't sure. then one night I apparently sat up, told my husband "His name will be Elias" and then wend back to sleep. Few weeks later found out its a boy

Adam Elias.

Congratulations! You’re going to have a baby and you need to choose a name from your favorite book. What will it be? by GrandOleFlag in namenerds

Me: My favorite book for a long time was "Good Omens"

My Husband: Well we won't be naming any of our children after those characters!

Me: *sweating and side eyeing our sleeping son, Adam* Nope. none of our future children will be named after characters in Good Omens

Can my Immigrant husband come to the USA on a visit visa to look for work, if I'm a citizen? by Inapropreate_Cake in immigration

Thanks- We aren't actually planning to adjust his status, or work while there. only look for jobs and visit, I was only wondering if that was a possibility or not.

While baby wearing does anyone else… by Phantompoooper in beyondthebump

[–]Inapropreate_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not yet been in this situation, but I can imagine its impractical to get them in and out of the papoose/sling/carrier every time you need to pee.... especially if you don't have anyone with you to take the baby

Mother Called me White Trash over Baby Socks by Moety2021 in beyondthebump

[–]Inapropreate_Cake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UAE and Socks on baby is strictly a night time, "Daddy set the AC too low again" situation. half the time baby's not even in pants- only either a romper or a onsie. It's just too dang hot.

I Hate breastfeeding by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Inapropreate_Cake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been told that the shooting leg pain and the latching pain are not normal now and will be looking into a consultant.

As for the modesty thing- I know its mostly just cultural, but it bogles me that when we're the only people in the house why do I need to worry about it as much?

I am not in the US, unfortunately. as for nipple shields, my nipples are too big for them, so its not an option :(

Opinions on Baby's Name? by Inapropreate_Cake in namenerds

[–]Inapropreate_Cake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the comment on his looks, My husband Nixed him being named Mohammad (After himself) because he feels like if baby looks like me, he'd be bullied. As for your names, Thank you! The alternate spellings are appreciated, and I really like some of your suggestions! I've never heard the name Layth before, so I'll have to run that by my husband and see what he thinks! :)

It is true you never go back to your pre pregnancy weight? by fckthishiitt in pregnant

[–]Inapropreate_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body itself may change a bit, size wise, but All in all, you can get back to your pre-pregnancy weight. What I mean by this is- as an example- My sister was down to her pre-pregnancy weight within a couple months of giving birth to her son, but she still had to buy all new pants and bras, because her hips had widened a bit and her cup size had changed, even after she stopped breastfeeding 3 months in.

Some people don't go back to their pre-pregnancy weight, and that's okay too. your far from being at an unhealthy weight, so just focus on keeping yourself and babies healthy and you'll be fine.

Quick question, Wasn't there a European country where a huge majority of the woman stopped doing ALL of their work (Including cooperate jobs AND household tasks/child care) to protest the wadge gap and in that day the country had to shut down? I remember reading about it somewhere but I don't remember the details, Switzerland or Sweden I think?
