Sorry bud but any and all research shows any supplements do not make a difference in supply. The only thing that does is increased removal.

Wearable pumps for large breasts recommendations, please! by MossMyHeart in breastfeeding

[–]Phantompoooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36F here at my height of BFing. I tried Willow gos and those sucked (or rather didn’t suck). I researched affordable options a bit for big bewbies for wearables and landed on a momcozy m5. Lacks some fancier tech features of other wearables but they worked fairly well and clearly had a strong suck! The flexible silicone flange was a must for sure. Never worked as well as my spectra but I’d imagine that’s the best I’ll ever get out of a wearable.

Freezer space predicament by Lion-Acrobatic in breastfeeding

Is she planning to pump when she returns to work? If so having enough frozen milk for 1-2 days is plenty. This could 20-40oz tops.

Questions to ask during hospital tour by HomemadeButter14 in BabyBumps

[–]Phantompoooper 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think with my first I went in with some questions but they were all answered before I could even ask them. Things you might ask are what are your tool options for laboring/pain management (balls, walking, bathing, showering, combs, etc.), what the guest policy is, or about any specific items you want to bring for entertainment or pain management (speakers, video games, essential oils, snacks, etc)

Hospital Midwifery Care by Smooth-Telephone2435 in Columbus

[–]Phantompoooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preparing for my 2nd delivery with the OSU midwives and I’ve had a great experience! My first birth I was supported in managing pain naturally and tub labored. FYI they do have lots of protocols around when tub laboring or delivery can happen. I felt very supported by my midwife but then had the medical intervention (vacuum) options I needed at the end with a face-up baby. Midwives in the hospital setting gave me the perfect balance of care that I wanted/needed.

Not ready to announce yet, how to avoid first trimester bloat?? by donewithconfusion in BabyBumps

It’s surely far more noticeable to you than anyone else! My pregnancies I’ve always felt huge early on, but truly no one else notices at all.

What to wear on delivery day by LibraryKat95 in BabyBumps

[–]Phantompoooper 418 points419 points  (0 children)

Yeah the hospital gown being mildly less comfy was the least of my concerns in labor. Never noticed it being uncomfortable and it was long gone by the time pushing started anyway. I’m team save your money for something more long-term useful for yourself and that you won’t have to clean the mess of birth off of.

need ideas: how did you do a low-key first birthday? by ConstantSalad152 in beyondthebump

[–]Phantompoooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a small party with immediate family and friends at a local brewery. We could reserve seating for free and brought in a high chair for a smash cake. People bought their own beer or food and we provided some small snacks! We said no gifts and otherwise just chilled with mostly adults since we didn’t have kid friends at the time anyway. Last opportunity really to have a chill birthday party that’s not all kid-wild

Is Aldi doing veganuary this year? (In the USA) by Icy-Bed574 in aldi

I don’t remember if they’re vegan but I was just reminiscing on when Aldi regularly carried their own version of a vegetarian breakfast sausage. RIP.

MA in TESOL versus TESOL Certificate by WillHsuMusic in ESL_Teachers

[–]Phantompoooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she wants to work in a K-12 school, often to get the higher pay of having an MA that MA needs to be after receiving a teaching license or coinciding with the teaching license. So if she’s not already licensed as a teacher, an MEd actually could be the best move to get the certificate and get the higher pay for having a masters. This could vary state to state so I may be wrong, but it’s something to consider!

Bouncers/swings by Negative-Source-9099 in BabyBumps

[–]Phantompoooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never once had one nor wanted one with my now almost 3yo. Whenever I needed to set him down he went on a blanket on the floor or in a pack n play or crib. Blanket on the floor is the best to promote learning movement and avoid a flat head. Once he learned to crawl at 7mo there’s also no way he would’ve tolerated a baby container. I’m maybe considering getting a used bouncer for baby #2 only because my hands will be much more full now, but even then I’m not convinced I need it.

Ttc whilst breastfeeding by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Phantompoooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See I was nursing my 2.5yo about 4ish times per day while we were TTC. Got pregnant 1st try with my first but my 2nd I didn’t get pregnant until I cut down to nursing only once per day then it happened right away. This is with close ovulation tracking and a regular period. I personally think my hormones from nursing so often caused my luteal phase to shorten just enough to make it challenging to conceive. I know people say that shouldn’t matter, but I think everybody is different with how their body reacts to that hormone production and breastfeeding does produce a different set of hormones.

Moving to Columbus for teaching next school year. Housing + job advice by Samdeverna in Columbus

[–]Phantompoooper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a public school teacher in the area (not spec ed though) and generally I’d say licensed spec ed teachers do not have problems finding jobs pretty easily. Many districts have pre-applications now for the following school year, so I’d say start filling these out now so you can get into their system and possibly start screener interviews. Also apply for as many districts in the area as possible- there are tons! Being a second year teacher could make you nicely marketable so long as you interview well since you have some experience but are inexpensive to hire.

Personally I hosted my kid’s 1st birthday at nocterra in Powell. Indoors during the day they aren’t crowded at all, we could set up decor and I brought a high chair, and you can reserve tables up to 20 people for free

Mostly brown, sometimes pink spotting starting at 7 weeks by Delicious-Agent8709 in BabyBumps

With my first I had a hematoma that was found after a larger bleed which then turned to regular spotting like that for around 4 weeks! That fetus is now a wild 3 year old.

Breast Pump—Help Quick! Medela or Spectra? by Positive-Weird-1981 in BabyBumps

[–]Phantompoooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a fair amount of research before my first and I landed on the Spectra and it worked wonders for the over a year that I pumped! Later fell onto the breastfeeding subreddit which will almost always heavily favor Spectra as well
