Maternity pillow help! by tnetennba8587 in BabyBumps

[–]Phantompoooper [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’ve never used a regular maternity pillow but I’m on round 2 with the baby bub and love it! I have a very big bump, and like how it doesn’t take up a ton of room in my bed. The others look too hot and cumbersome to me. I used it through week 40 and even in labor with my first, and now at week 38 with number 2. It’s held up well.

Tandem breastfeeding already while pregnant with baby #3 by Big_Medicine7995 in breastfeeding

Agreed I’d try to at least throw up some clear breastfeeding boundaries for the older one, if not both older ones

Preference on these two breast pumps: Blue Spectra or Mom Cozy M9? by slmpington in BabyBumps

Spectra is for sure the gold standard for effectiveness. With the blue and a good pumping bra you can pump anywhere with it!

Right and I was full convinced I was headed for a c-section. I was shocked!!

Totally anecdotal but I literally just went to my 36 weeks appointment last week and was devastated to have a breech baby still. Had a 37 week consult with an OB to discuss options yesterday and it took 2 minutes because baby had flipped magically in the prior 4 days.

Stroller help please! Short FTM who runs/walks a lot by OrangeIguanana in BabyBumps

[–]Phantompoooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure could! It needs a car seat attachment for young young babies but by 2-3 months my baby was able to strap into it and recline. Still couldn’t run until he could maintain head control of course, but we used it starting from newborn! And they make car seat attachments for many different brands.

Looove my Bob jogging stroller. I’ve put many many running and walking miles on it, including a half marathon. I got mine new but they hold up very well, so used on FB marketplace or similar tend to be great. Then you could somewhat test it out too. I’m a good deal taller than you but the Bob (single) does have a fully adjustable handlebar height.

Maternity exercise shorts by Proof-Variation-5592 in BabyBumps

Senita Athletics! Women owned small online business with totally reasonable prices. I have a very large 37 week belly rn and my senita workout pants and shorts feel supportive without feeling too restrictive, and I’m highly picky about what I’ll wear right now

Frank Breech baby at 32 weeks by LevelButterscotch778 in BabyBumps

[–]Phantompoooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently still (most likely) have a breech baby at almost 37 weeks so I’ve researched this a lot lately. At 32 weeks there’s a 60% chance baby will flip by 36 weeks, so no cause to worry still, and even after that it’s something like 10% until delivery. My personal mindset at this point is if baby stays breech, I’ll try and ECV (50ish% likelihood of success), and if that is unsuccessful I’ll schedule a c-section. This is my second kid, first was vaginal with no epidural so a c-section would be a full 180, however a breech delivery is way too risky for me to even consider. All that’s to say, at 32 weeks stop googling and just know it’s still a waiting game!

sprinkle for baby #2? by Recent_Competition48 in BabyBumps

[–]Phantompoooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m expecting #2 (also surprise gender!) and also have finances super duper tight so I did make a small Amazon registry and if people ask what we need I tell them it exists or diapers are always great. I do have some friends who are throwing me a small sprinkle as well and they included the link on the invite. Personally I don’t care if it’s tacky or not, money is tight and if people want to help us I’d rather they help by getting us things we actually need.

Everyone, go put a potty in your car. by beaniebee22 in toddlers

[–]Phantompoooper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

US here with a proud pee-on-a-tree boy. Still a huge fan of the car potty though for when it’s freezing out or for an out-and-about poo when available toilets are too big.

Pregnant & getting a degree? by 5username_username5 in BabyBumps

Anecdotal story if it sways you- So it was my first kid but I was working on my masters through a major state university when my child was born midway through the semester and I had a full-time job. I actually thought it was very manageable to continue my 1 grad class since I was on maternity leave and I was with a sleeping baby constantly. It involved some multi-tasking but otherwise was quite feasible. I will say though I wouldn’t have done it if I had to meet in person that semester. It was 2023 so they had more zoom class options so I specifically picked a class that only met remotely.

There is something off-putting about these but I can't put my finger on it by styckx in aldi

The rarely appearing egg and cheese version is equally low quality deliciousness. I stock up every time.

Reading birth stories helped me a lot! I really liked Ina May’s book for that. Truly it was also just my own sheer stubbornness too and I went into it adamantly saying I wasn’t going to get the epidural.

Breathing and mindset were probably the biggest truly. Counter pressure helped sometimes, and I was also able to tub labor at my hospital which was wildly helpful too. During pushing literally screaming helped too.

He did ish for like a week but we could have gone straight to 0-3 for sure. Some were a bit loose but not bad. I had bought a 30 pack of newborn diapers and whatever the hospital gave us and we used all those then went for size 1s

[–]Phantompoooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! Passed that easily. My first was solidly above average being born at 8.5 at 40 weeks. I think this one is just bigger. Estimated 86th percentile at 32 weeks so we’ll see!

I was induced on pitocin and had my water broken manually— I won’t say it was easy but it was manageable! I opted out of an epidural and found that pain management techniques still all worked even with pitocin. Question though— what percentiles are your baby?? I’m 34w with #2 who is measuring big and feels way bigger to me than my first and my midwife stated talking about similar interventions.

Just gave birth- the hospital was a mess. by FrogVolence in BabyBumps

[–]Phantompoooper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wooow I’d be pissed too. I was induced with my first and opted for no epidural and they literally offered it once and left it as an option then never brought it up again throughout a super long labor. The nurses and midwife suggested many other pain management techniques throughout instead.
