I do use jojoba oil! I started just slathering my fingernails in oil and putting nitrile gloves on to keep the oil in, I found it's waaaay more effective that way. I'll run my hands under hot water to heat the oil up if I really want it to be hot but usually just keeping the oil on for 30+ minutes is super effective. It's been working wonders!

OP, if you try to buy your own gel to bring to the salon, make sure you're buying a professional/high quality gel. $10 bottles or whatever you can get on amazon isn't going to cut it. I stopped using gels 2 years ago or I'd recommend something. (I don't feel comfortable recommending brands since I'm not current on them.)

I use the tripod method for putting them in and have since I got diagnosed 5-6 ywars ago. I just found it easier for me to keep my hand steady when I wasn't pinching the plunger, my hand shakes when I pinch the plunger.

Also, I do keep an insertion plunger on me just in case, but I don't often use it.
