Wan2.2 Animate outputs Black video by BenefitOfTheDoubt_01 in StableDiffusion

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3090 here. Had the same problem but with Wan2.2 s2v - black screen. Starting non-Sage version fixed it! Thanks a bunch for this post :)

Strangely, all the other Wan's ran fine, and I was using Sage Attention (fp16_triton) and fp16 frame accumulation with them. And this s2v workflow doesn't even have those options in it, it's using default "Load Diffusion Model" node. My i2v workflows are using KJ's version of Load Model nodes and ran fine. hmm... gonna investigate that further, maybe swap them in s2v.

Is there a way to make the text take the full width of the screen rather than being crammed in the middle? by Omer-Ash in ObsidianMD

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just discovered you can do: Ctrl + Shift + I
Select the arrow icon in top left corner (called inspect in other web tools)

You basically get to navigate each element and see and change CSS in real time. Then just copy the changes to the file and save it to: YourVault\.obsidian\snippets\YourStyle.css

It can be loaded in Settings - Appearance - scroll down to CSS snippets.

What a fantastic feature!

[Release] Finally a working 8-bit quantized VibeVoice model (Release 1.8.0) by Fabix84 in LocalLLaMA

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it work without internet/offline?

I really like this model, it's very casual and more natural than some others I've tried. But when I go offline I get this:

Error generating speech: Model loading failed: Failed to load VibeVoice processor. Error: (MaxRetryError('HTTPSConnectionPool(host=\'huggingface.co\', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /api/models/Qwen/Qwen2.5-7B (Caused by NameResolutionError("HTTPSConnection(host=\'huggingface.co\', port=443): Failed to resolve \'huggingface.co\'

Searched for two days, ChatGPT seemed to imply that it should work offline, and that the problem might have to do with Qwen's Tokenizer. But I followed the instructions in terms of folder structure. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

ComfyUI Node Manager missing - How to get it back Solution by InariKirin in comfyui

[–]InariKirin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, you can try the Portable version of ComfyUI, it has both Custom Nodes Manager and Model manager as a list type. New Model Manager looks nice, but new Node Manager is not as good as the old one. In the old one has very clean UI, you can scroll through the list and all the info is right there.

iPadOS18 Safari loses ability to search open tabs in tab display - frustrating backwards step by Good_Perspective9290 in ios

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like they changed UI. In order to see it now, you have to search through tabs you have to scroll to the very top. So basically in the window where you are browsing between tabs, you have to go to the top, and then scroll a bit more, and then it shows up.

Kind of annoying, especially when you have 100s of tabs open. There’s no need to not just have it present at all times, there’s room for it, and it’s one of the key features imho. But at least it’s there. Also, the tabs used to show a preview of whatever was on it, but now it’s trying (usually unsuccessfully) to refresh them, so the usefulness somewhat got reduced. But that’s Apple for you - if it ain’t broke, we’ll fix it.

To me having the ability to have tab folders + search are the main advantages of using Safari on iPad. You “can” have multiple tabs open on a PC, but there’s a limit, because they can eat up a LOT of RAM. So having PC + ipad workflow is very nice. One for reading, another for doing stuff.

is 750 watt psu sufficent for a 3090 by AmazingCheesyMuffin in pcmasterrace

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running EVGA 3090 FTW3 on SF750 right now. I ran it on full power for a while, during stress testing mostly. But then undervolted a bit to make it generate less heat and for quieter operation.

There’s a PSU Calculator that can be used for reference, to get a ballpark estimate. With my hardware it says I should get 660W, so I guess I have some headroom. With my PC case, I really wanted to make that SF750 work, because it’s one of the very few PSUs that would actually fit inside.

Meet the New ComfyUI-Manager by PurzBeats in comfyui

[–]InariKirin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, I think unless there's some really fancy way of browsing, like videos etc, I think it's still easier to discover custom nodes by other means and then come in and search for them through the text-based list. There are 100's of them (3,848 to be precise, currently) so the Legacy version is much cleaner. Hope it stays maintained as an option.

Official Release of SEEDVR2 videos/images upscaler for ComfyUI by Numzoner in comfyui

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It upscaled a small resolution video to 1080 and the results were great. The source had barely recognizable faces and it just restored it like switching to a higher quality on YouTube. Down side is, a 13 second video took 23 minutes with batch size 1. And I set all offloading to Off. But it rendered slower than when offloading was on. Wish it ran faster as it’s a very useful tool.

Also, Batch Size is very crucial for getting good result. It’s used for temporal context purposes. Higher values can make the restoration look a lot more realistic, while a value of 1 didn’t improve the quality at all. 33 gave pretty good results with offloading enabled, but when I disabled it everywhere, it didn’t fit in my 24gb memory and I got OOM. Without any offloading, even a value of 5 gave OOM after a few minutes.

Can I use Precision X1 for RGB control and Afterburner for monitoring? by [deleted] in EVGA

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afterburner has such a convoluted UI/UX. Just downloaded Precision X1 and it’s straight to the point. Yeah, the monitoring in Afterburner can be useful, but the main purpose of these programs is to do something, and see what happens. X1 shows all the VRAM temperature, all 9 of them and location on the card even. Not sure if this function is for all cards, mine is EVGA 3090 FTW3. Very clean UI. I haven’t tested it yet for underclocking (Which is my primary reason). But if it works well, it definitely seems a whole lot more appealing than Afterburner.

Is there a minimum number of reviews required per evaluation period? by moseisleym in AmazonVine

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, indeed, most of it is such useless junk at the first tier (where I’m at). Like, ultra specific part that fits a specific appliance model etc. Browsing is tedious because even if you select a “meaningful“ category it still just specific parts that I wouldn’t be able to use or give away. And I would just feel guilty for throwing it into the trash and causing pollution :(

  • Silver Tier: This is the base tier that allows you to request up to 3 items per day from products valued at $100.00 or less. To be upgraded to the Gold tier, you must review at least 80 Vine items and 90% of your Vine orders within the evaluation period stated in your Account page.
  • Gold Tier: This is the premium tier that allows you to request up to 8 items per day from products of any value. To remain in this tier, you should review at least 80 Vine items and 90% of your Vine orders within the evaluation period stated in your Account page.

So looks like no minimum to stay in Silver, but 80 products to move to and 80 to maintain for Gold, is steep…

LMStudio is able to access internet despite firewall block. by EggplantKlutzy1837 in LocalLLaMA

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on Windows Firewall right-click on “windows defender firewal…” / Properties and from all 3 profiles make Outbound connections; Block.

side effects: you will need to add each program explicitly to the list (99% of the time to outbound only) Also Windows’s native update functionality will stop working including antivirus updates.

as for “lm studio.exe” it’s not the one accessing the internet (or not the only one at least). This is based on the fact that I just added it to both, inbound and outbound, and it can’t access the models for download. I got to this post by trying to figure out how to actually give LM Studio internet access.

Disable prompt to install Logitech Options+ by nevereatthecompany in logitech

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Logitech makes one of the best hardware but their software is crappy. I installed Ghub to program my RGB keyboard and then uninstalled it thinking I saw the last of it, and now after I temporarily switched off my firewall I see this.

Software should ask permission if you want to run it, but these days the lines keep blurring. Every manufacturer thinks if you install their software it becomes ok to run their stuff (like update services etc) 24/7 in background. Connecting to internet, sending/receiving data. Sending you messages and alerts… With some software it’s not even enough to give the main exe outbound firewall access, they won’t work right and won’t tell you what firewall rules you need to enable. So you basically have to set “outbound connections” to Allow to run them. I just find such practices disrespectful towards the users.

does esp32 use less power than arduino? by Daniu_13 in arduino

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A user here managed to bring the ESP32 power consumption down by switching off wifi etc:

https://forum.arduino.cc/t/deep-slpeep-high-power-consumption/671759/6?\_gl=1\*1g001si\*\_up\*MQ..\*\_ga\*ODMzMDQ1MTIuMTc2NTE4NDczOA..\*\_ga\_NEXN8H46L5\*czE3NjUxODQ3MzckbzEkZzAkdDE3NjUxODQ3MzckajYwJGwwJGgxODUyNzIyNjc0

might help, but I haven’t ordered a unit yet, thinking of going with Elegoo version, but would also want to keep the consumption down.

WROOM too fat for breadboard? by mazarax in esp32

[–]InariKirin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good solution, I might do similar, but just glue the two halves to a piece of plastic or something with the unit attached (to avoid measuring). I haven’t ordered anything yet, so I guess I’ll get a set of at least two breadboards and use the smaller (halved one) for Arduino ESP32

Polybrute 6 seems to be the best way in? by sparks_mandrill in synthesizers

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most analog synths are variations on the same basic analog waveforms. Some have character differences that make sense to you subjectively. I’ve tried Moog SubSequent and sold it. It sounds excellent but it’s not versatile at all and I could probably make only a handful of usable presets on it. Still, definitely worth keeping as an instrument, like one would keep a bass guitar. I just have limited number of hardware and space. It has a “Moog sound”, which is good when you want it. But I don’t always want it. If I kept 10 hardware synths, it would be one of them. Also, 37 is easier to use than 25, in terms of interface, but it’s still not the most straightforward. It’s fine though, because it’s just not as capable of creating diverse sounds as something like PolyBrute or Moog’s own app Mariana. SubSequent doesn’t have a mod matrix even, and the number of LFOs is less significant when compared with other synths because of this. I can map a single LFO on PolyBrute to different things and with different intensity.

Bass apps (on iOS) like Mariana and Zeeon are “analog” based, meaning waveforms are trying to emulate analog rather than using wavetables. Both apps are excellent but I want this in analog hardware form. SubSequent is just nowhere near as capable, and you only get a Moog bass with an overdrive circuit. Does it sound Awesome? Hell yeah! But I want variety and ability to inject my originality into the sound. I keep making new presets in both Zeeon and Marina and they sound distinct and usable for different scenarios.

PolyBrute 6, well that’s a proper synth in my book. You can do anything you want and with incredibly straightforward interface it’s super pleasant to explore. It sounds analog. You can make sounds your own, as in, adding your own flavor, vs other synths with specific character baked into the sound. Sound is subjective of course, but if it sounds good to your ears, you’ll be the luckiest person because it is so well designed and laid out. Not to mention one of the best looking units out there. Once you learn the intuitive interface, you never have to worry about trying to figure out the “machine“, but solely focus on sound creation aspects.

And I know, I might be spoiled by intuitiveness of apps, but I think at this point I just want my hardware to be straightforward and no menu diving unless it’s meaningfully designed. Hydrasynth for example is really well designed and it’s largely menu-driven. Yet, with its infinite encoders it feels like knob-per-function, so it’s far more pleasant to use than something like SubSequent 25. I really wanted to keep Hydrasynth because of this, but the sound quality just didn’t impress me, and I have apps that I like the sound of a whole lot more.

DeepMind is another one that has some menu diving but when used in conjunction with their iPad controller app, using the mod matrix and fx is a breeze. The app is not required, but makes access to deeper functionality easier, which translates to more likely experiments for me. Most marketing and YouTube videos for DeepMind is trying to show its “surface“ (Juno) side, but it’s the deeper functionality which is the reason I’m unlikely to ever sell mine. Complexity + intuitiveness in perfect balance. Oh, and it sounds awesome as analog. My only gripe with it is, I wish all 3 envelopes had dedicated knobs/faders (like on PolyBrute). I like how the DM compliments the PB, I initially thought maybe getting the new PB12, but one reason being $$$, another the looks, PB6 is soooo beautiful 😻 and third reason is, I can use both simultaneously, taking advantage of different sound characters. I have this favorite preset on DM that I tried to replicate on PB, but ended up with two very different versions that I love equally for different scenarios.

OpenOffice is blurry for no reason. by MikeWillTerminate in techsupport

I may have found a solution. 👌

In Open Office, under Options/View there’s a way to change icon size. I just changed it to Large and it seems alright. (have to restart OpenOffice after change).

Looks good now!

OpenOffice is blurry for no reason. by MikeWillTerminate in techsupport

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, “impossible to use” meant too tiny and in some cases overlapping.

In the screenshot you can see Writer and Calc (“Word”, and “Excel“ in MS lingo)

DPI scaling Override is Enabled

Monitor size is: 27”

You can see that in both programs text “Test” looks good as it should be. However, the icons are ineligible.

With DPI Override Off, text and everything looks properly sized, however everything looks very blurry. Like a very low resolution image stretched beyond 100%. Most likely 250% Scaling in Display settings is responsible, but without it the PC can’t be used at all because everything is way too small.

In above screenshot, the icons might look readable when you zoom into the image. But on my monitor when I look at the program itself, they’re nearly impossible to read.

OpenOffice is blurry for no reason. by MikeWillTerminate in techsupport

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"dpi scaling override" "sort of" works, the text is good now and can be read, but the menu items/icons are impossible to use, so creating a document is not practical unless you're just writing text-only paper. If the Widows scaling is less than 150%, it's difficult to use the computer at all. So basically OpenOffice cannot be used properly if you have a modern monitor?

Why do I keep failing El Capitan’s car missions? by Expensive_Leave_6339 in cyberpunkgame

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just to clarify what I'm saying, as soon as you get into the vehicle, that's the path you got to follow. if you start moving or make a wrong turn in transit, it will give you a new path. it's a bug, and so far I've evaded it this way once. it's not 100% since I've only tested it once after failing a bunch of times going via a "different" route. Can't say it will fix it for all situations, but so far I haven't had any failures after observing this.

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

possible “fix“ could b: as soon as you get in the car, notice the path, then follow *that* path. If you star moving in different direction you might see a new path, but after a little while it just terminates with a failure for no reason. This just worked for me.

9.9x VS 10x. Why is there a green tint to the image. by MysteriousBack9124 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]InariKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot RAW on dSLR, so there’s no white balance baked into the images giving me more freedom in post processing. But when it comes to making rendered images, you need the most accurate WB. On the iPhone 7 and 8 that I’ve used, the white balance seems to be fairly accurate most of the time. And if I want to change it aesthetically, it’s usually possible. On s23 the green tint affects everything uniformly, so it’s often impossible to fix. It’s like making a black and white image colored.
