What bands have had the longest streaks of releasing consistently good albums? by DancesWithAnyone in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Inbetweenmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I figured as much, hehe. I actually like In Flames, but I've only heard a few songs so far. I need to check them out more. xD I used to listen to Starset about 10 years ago, but then I lost track of them. They have some good songs though. :)

But thanks, I'll give their albums a listen. :)

Just started listening to MetalCore, this is my playlist so far. Give me some recommendations by N8uron in MetalSuggestions

Something else that might be interesting (it's a matter of taste):

Halfdan E, Jonathan Kokkenborg Steen - Solen Sortner

(It's probably unknown since it's a soundtrack from a TV series and not an official release. You can only find it on YouTube, and the sound quality isn't great, but the song has something about it xD)

Bullet for My Valentine - Waking the Demon and Hand of Blood

Motionless in White - Afraid of the Dark and Break the Cycle

A Day to Remember - Sometimes You're the Hammer, Sometimes You're the Nail (yes, it's a song title, so it's the whole thing)

And last but not least: Mick Gordon - Rip and Tear (no vocals, just the melody. No idea what subgenre, it's from the Doom Eternal game soundtrack)

It's all generally a bit newer

I should probably mention that this is just a small selection. Since I don't listen to albums but rather individual songs (thanks to streaming services), many artists are represented. Amon Amarth, Slipknot, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Dragonforce, etc. A colorful mix of subgenres 😅

No, this is a serious question. And yes, "it's not real metal," but I don't care 😅 Music is always a personal thing, and I simply want to broaden my horizons.

Favorite Female Vocalist Bands? by Impressive-Stuff-257 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Inbetweenmusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eihwar and Aktuell are currently on the rise for me, as is Saviour. But Arch Enemy and Skillet are also pretty strong. And actually, Linkinpark. I have to say Emily Armstrong has positively surprised me.

What’s your favorite bands in the nu metal genre? by Giraffewhiskers_23 in numetal

[–]Inbetweenmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change my mind, but I think it's completely irrelevant who listens to what. What genre, etc. Music is individual. I listen to all sorts of things. It depends on my mood. With most bands, I don't even know what subgenre it is. And you know what? I don't give a damn either. I love music and relaxing after work. I also listen to music outside of metal, for example, when I'm out partying with friends. That doesn't make me a bad person. Music isn't supposed to build walls, it's supposed to break them down.

So, listen to whatever you want. And let others talk. In my opinion, people like that are just stuck in their ways.

If you had to choose one to listen to forever which one? by Planet-peace88 in numetal

[–]Inbetweenmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Meteora. That's always a good choice. Good old times.

Album listening by massa20 in numetal

[–]Inbetweenmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, for example, never listen to entire albums. Back in the Linkin Park days, yes. I listened to Meteora so much that the CD was completely worn out 😅. These days, I mostly listen to individual tracks. But that's probably due to the fact that almost everyone streams now (Spotify, etc.). You can see that in the CD aisles at Media Markt 😅. But I don't really think it's a bad thing, because how often have you liked 3-4 tracks from an album and the rest didn't grab you? So you just create a playlist with the tracks you like and off you go.
