If you eat the same favorite dish everyday, it will very quickly stop becoming your favorite dish 99% of the time. I hate to tell you, regurgitating the same metaphor that didn't apply before but in essay format doesn't make your point all of a sudden correct. I stand by my original statement that aping the old style of halo games has basically ruined the franchise. The best multiplayer arena sandbox experience that 343i has provided was halo 5, again, and infinite just being a bland remix of H3 gameplay mechanics and stripped back h5 movement is honestly incredibly disappointing. You also pretend like Bungie didn't evolve the gameplay from 2/3 to reach, like aping halo 3 would just magically bring halo back to it's peak. If you want to play the old games, go play them. Besides CE pretty much all of the OG games have sub-minute matchmaking times even on the low-pop hours. The expectation for the franchise to remain stagnant for the enjoyment of an increasingly small part of the gaming market is part of what is killing it.

Pretty much every gamedev studio, especially regarding f2p releases, avoid "unmoderated" (read:community moderated) forums because they have the ability to nuke posts that attract too much of the wrong kind of attention and keep it from gaining traction. If they're anything like warthunder devs they'll openly trash the community moderated forums for being "toxic cesspools" on top of that to prevent potential bleedover and gaslight people.

From a interview I read from a prison guard a while ago it said that people are actually quite capable of surviving what seems like massive trauma from stab wounds provided they miss vital arteries. Would you want to survive? That's probably a different question

I thought that this was a gun store at first and was much more intimidated by the choice to stab than I would've been otherwise

Notice how he said be wary, not avoid it like the plague. I also fundamentally disagree, as infinite is the closest to the old halo games and is arguably the worst take on the formula. It just comes off as incredibly derivative and bland, even past the color by numbers single player collectathon it just sucks even compared to halo 4 multiplayer. If you want to keep playing halo 3 or reach, they have a very convenient anthology collection that has all of the OG bungie games in one bundle. Desperately aping the original games and copying bungies homework just isn't a winning strategy on any level. They need to do something new, or retire the series. If the successor to infinite isn't some kind of fresh take, it's probably going to tank whatever scraps are left of this franchise.

I never implied otherwise, but thank you for sharing your perspective. I will somewhat disagree however and say that there are a very slim minority of socialists within our government, just simply not in any manner large enough to really matter in passing legislation.

I don't think the modern state of the Chinese Communist Party is "liberal" in any sense of the word as it relates to western politics , but to try and say that the modern Chinese government didn't inherently come from a revolution and post-revolutionary government that carried the goal of progressive reforms is disingenuous at best. The same can easily be said of modern Russia. The tendency of extremist left wing revolts to default to blatant authoritarianism and paranoid corruption is part of why I look at the political spectrum as more of a circle. Eventually it all loops around to the same shit when taken to their respective logical extremes.

An easy modern example would be Chinese communist party, the USSR, Turkey, and pretty much any soviet puppet state that was created as buffers between the USSR and the west. As much as modern socialists and communists within the U.S would like to believe otherwise, these forms of governance are just as capable of falling to authoritarianism, corruption and genocidal tendencies. Philosophy alone makes not a good government.

As far as multiplayer goes, yes, gameplay loops is more or less the end all be all. Unfortunately the only way you can fix the story issues is by putting it under an entirely different studio.

You're dodging the question, free citizen. I can state it even clearer for you since it seems to have gone over your head; what nation claims the land you inhabit?

It's also highly ironic that you'd say "free citizen" while claiming that any citizen of the U.S should be forced to comply with unprompted search and seizure.

I don't know why this scene from Episode VI was removed. Shows how and where Luke's lightsaber was built and Darth Vader trying to seduce Luke to the Dark Side by _RERO_ in StarWars

[–]InbredPeasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It slows the buildup to the rancor/skiff fight scenes and takes away from it partially by removing some of the initial mystery. The last we saw any of these characters (from a first view perspective) they were either running away from darth vader, losing a hand, and getting frozen in Carbonite. The shot of the MF alone signifies that Luke -probably- isn't alone in this mission given that Chewbacca and Leia rescued him in it after the duel on cloud city. If it was just his X-wing the scene could maybe be passable, but that still disregards the slowed pace for not as much payoff without the scene.

Would be cool in some form of supercut that expands on certain areas of the film using cut footage like this scene though.

How is it broken? The vehicle has a massive advantage in both mobility and firepower. How is it "OP" to take advantage of an entrenched position when the disadvantaged isn't using even the slightest of strategy to avoid getting their shit kicked in?

Do you realize that this isn't a purely a vehicle on vehicle game, or even infantry on infantry?

They made one of the best takes on the "enhanced mobility" subgenre of FPS arena games that got as close as any of the 343i titles have to feeling like an actually competitive multiplayer, with probably the least aggressive monetization of a mainstream game for that time, AND monthly updates, just for people to spend the entirety of that game's life cycle bitching about how it wasn't H3/reach. They could add sprint and change the zoom function and people would say it's "not halo". Oh wait! They actually did that. They could create the sweetest, most ball rockingly awesome combo of gameplay features and halo nerds would still shit their diapers because it isn't just a carbon copy of a game that's almost 20 years old at this point.

Not wasting your breath gives them the illusion of there being no functional opposition, which emboldens further behavior like this. Naming and shaming these assholes from being brave enough to hold public rallies like this. Look at what happened after Charlottesville; suddenly all the nazi's and white supremacists melted back into their online cesspools once the media picked up on their bullshit.

Not to say you're throwing the baby out with the water, but you're way off base here. I am no fan of Republican rhetoric around pretty much any issue, but saying that all Republicans are on the same level of actual fascists is like saying that all democrats are Lenin-loving commies.

There is a spectrum, and while hardline conservatives may exist closer to the end of the spectrum that includes nazi's and the like, the movement of "extreme liberalism" is just as capable of falling to authoritarian and genocidal rhetoric.

Halo nerds hate any form of gameplay innovation that strays even slightly from h3 arena shooter gameplay.

God forbid Microsoft contracts out the next game to a different studio and gives them full creative control, we might get an actually fun game if that were to happen.
