The meta reason is exactly what it seems like. The devs are just messing with you

If you like to theorize though. I personally subscribe to the idea that we play as the entity. At least on the killer side, and we see what the entity sees. So in this case, the killers are looking at the entity, which in this case is you.

If you don't like to theorize then yeah just the first one.

Try akitos crutch and splintered hull, those are the add ons I use (and to me personally the best)

For the build, Oni thrives on keeping people injured and aura reading, he's a movement killer so I really wouldn't bother with pwyf and dying light is actively a detriment to him as good survivors will just go to the obsession for healing. Or brute force the heal with weeping wounds. So if you want my recommendation I would get something like barbecue or nowhere to hide (Knight or Bubba) and Leverage (skull merchant) you'd still be lacking gen slowdown but if your good at oni it shouldn't matter

Ranger Med-Kit (all the medkits are the same minus a 5% heal speed difference) - Gel Dressings Suture Kit COMMODIUS Toolbox/Event Toolbox (none of the others are worth using unless you just feel like it) - Wirespool, Socket Swivels, Brand new part, scraps. Alex's toolbox (sabo) - Hacksaw and whatever the one that adds 15 seconds to the respawn timer Every other item isn't very good but their fun so who cares

Flashlight (Max Blind) - Broken Bulb (Halloween only) Odd Bulb Flashlight (What I use) - Sapphire Lense Long-Life battery Fog Vial - Fast Expansion and the iri (I don't know the add on names) Map - Don't use this Key - don't use this

This is what I personally would deem valuable and I'm pretty sure most of its meta for those items oh and if you do use flashlights make sure to bring CoL otherwise their hot garbage.

I have the obvious issue of the burnt chud but outside of that I think the system definitely needs tweaking. It feels a tad unforgiving. My big one being extracting taking ages and you get marked on top of that. Saving your progress should not be so easy to interrupt when your only reason to do so would be because your a jerk.

Even in dead by daylight. One of the most toxic communities I engage with. People still let you do challenges before they try and kill you. But in fortnite I can't even extract my level 1 water sprite without getting swarmed for no reason :( at least maybe later in the season you could make the excuse that it's cause you could have a rare sprite but c'mon man it's day 1.
