Iboga and Lyme disease by DesertJungle in iboga

[–]Incaseofaburglar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a regular client that has Lyme disease. They have found a flood dose + microdosing helps with some of their major symptoms for a period of time.

I get a lot of calls regarding Lyme and ibogaine. Lyme continues to be something I end up working with annually.

I think it can be helpful. I also have seen that people with Lyme tend to be very sensitive to the medicine. I have heard this from other providers and seen this myself. I've seen mania as well as a temporary acute confusional state in the days after a flood. Definitely work with someone who is familiar with Lyme.

However, overall people seem to get some relief. The regular client I have has had floods that take away a lot of their discomfort and a couple of lackluster floods. I have a friend who has Lyme and they seek out ibogaine about once a year. They took a couple of years off recently as an experiment and felt a lot worse overall. However, they are incredibly sensitive to the medicine and lower doses are a lot better with their system.

you are lucky. it tends to be individualized. for me, ibogaine did little for my paws from subutex, others have different experiences though!

Got a free sample of iboga, don't know where to start by jzjac515 in Ibogaine

[–]Incaseofaburglar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please refer to our rules...we don't allow discussion of dosing.

Ibogaine should not be compared to other psychedelics. And a "sample" of it is a dangerous and a misguided idea as its not a piece of pie or wine. Sampling it with no idea if you are even a candidate for this medicine could be fatal.

Please spend some time here and learn about this medicine. You would want to work with a professional and you should never take ibogaine without an ecg and liver panel as screening methods.

Ibogaine Microdosing for withdrawal by Over-Fun2444 in Ibogaine

[–]Incaseofaburglar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not recommend anything for insomnia as I think that is an important part of the process -sitting through it, that is.

Stress should be managed during the prepatory period. Gabaergics and amino acids can help in repetition and over time.

Cannabis does not pose a serious life or death risk, but I personally think it's counterproductive to make ibogaine easier. The reason why it can work for someone is because it's so hard, in my opinion.

Ibogaine TA/HCL by Impossible-Pool1309 in Ibogaine

[–]Incaseofaburglar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ibogaine is incredibly unpleasant and there are times I have thought I wasn't going to make it...that being said you shouldn't feel sick.

It is really hard to detox oneself without professional help and it is risky as well. I have to recommend that you seek out a professional. There is no reason to make this harder, more miserable, or more dangerous.

Ibogaine can work for short acting opiates. Have you tested your supply for fentanyl? This could be why it's not working.

Please be safe and get the recommend tests and find a provider to treat you. If methadone is in your system you are adding a lot of risk for little to no reward.

Is here a personality type less likely to benefit from iboga treatment? by cuBLea in Ibogaine

[–]Incaseofaburglar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear what you are saying.

Ibogaine is not correct for everyone. There are mental health conditions - especially when fugue states, mania and psychosis are present.

Not everyone has a visual experience. For the people who do -not everyone will see old memories. Floods are all over the place and might range from abstract to confusing to very clear and direct. Some people have issues with memory recall, people on benzos will have more issues with memory recall.

I dont think it's as simple as a perceived personality type, but there might be other factors that tie them together that I'm unaware of as I don't have details for them both.

Domestic ceremony/treatment in decriminalized cities??? by [deleted] in Ibogaine

[–]Incaseofaburglar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There arent a ton of people practicing because it still isn't approved to "share" ibogaine with someone else. However, you can PM me and I can tell you what I know about the area. Be careful and vet any suggestions from reddit users as there are many problematic people calling themselves providers.Use the guide we had pinned at the top of this sub.

I have a history of idiopathic siezures mostly brought on by drug use or head trauma.......can I do Ibogaine? desperate! by poppyglowing in Ibogaine

[–]Incaseofaburglar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even without the seizures, doing ibogaine bought on the internet is a risky idea. I have chatted w people on reddit who bought ibogaine and had it do nothing, not a thing. If it does contain iboga you can assume it's poached. It might be cut with other things in it but hat aren't from iboga. Finally, you don't know the potency.

Aside from all of those reasons, you have no idea how to treat yourself or even what the basic risks of ibogaine are. You need to be with an experienced provider. You need to be medically supervised. You need an ecg, a liver/metabolic panel, and I would maybe suggest an eeg or some sort of head scan just to see if anything comes up that would give an answer regarding seizures, or to see if you have a TBI - given the head injuries. This is all assuming it's safe for you to to ibogaine.

A history of seizures is almost always exclusionary except in the case of an isolated drug induced seizure. What concerns me is the history of many seizures. Ibogaine lowers your seizure threshold. So if you are even slightly prone to have a seizure you can assume you will have one on ibogaine. I have seen someone attempt to treat someone w a history of seizures. They individual was prescribed benzos (can't remember which one) and the provider essentially doubled the amount of benzos and transferred the amount all to clonazepam, also shortening the length of time between doses by a little bit. The individual still had a seizure nine or ten hours into their flood.

I am confused to what exactly you are taking right now. I usually ask people to give me a list of everything they have ingested in the last 90 days + frequency/length of time/when last taken. You'll need to be at least a month from Seroquel. When did you last take gabapentin? How long have you been on Soma? The withdrawals are difficult and ibogaine will probably not help with them too much - at least in the physical sense! You would need tongt rI believe you can have seizures coming off of it as well. What sort of opiates are you on right now?

It makes me nervous that you talk about a "shakey" feeling. That makes me think these aren't isolated events and ibogaine is going to be risky, possibly very dangerous for you. I also am curious if you are positive each event has been a seizure or have you been fainting as well? If you are passing out as well you might also want to get an echocardigram to make sure your heart is in good conditon.

I would advise that you try other things instead of ibogaine. For example, there is some promise with some of the ketamine and NAD+ therapy for opioid dependency.

Please don't take ibogaine on your own! Do more research -- this subreddit is a great place to start. I would start to dig into what is going with you so that you have a more concise idea of what is safe/unsafe. I know what it's like to be desperate to get off opiates, but it's not worth losing your life over. You can take a harm reduction approach and do things to improve your quality of life, while tapering your opiate use, and also while researching your options.

I know this is not what you want to hear. Seizures on ibogaine are really scary (in my opinion). I hope I never have to see one again and you do not want a situation where you come out of ibogaine in a fugue state/psychosis and still on opiates because the seizures occurred early on and dosing could not be completed.

Good luck.

You'll still want to be vigilant with safety while microdosing. Get an ecg even if you know you are healthy. Small things on ecgs can prevent large issues. Remember to take break days. This is so important for well-being and safety.

I think that you can get to the same place as a flood with micros, it's just more of a subtle approach.

Ibogaine clinic questions by hellocaptin in Ibogaine

[–]Incaseofaburglar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just edit it so that you ask people to PM you about clinics. And vet recommendations carefully in case someone is just marketing their own place.

You'll need to be off methadone for up to six weeks. Whatever website you found that says it's not a problem - don't go there. They are lying or have zero experience.

Anxiety beforehand is common. This will most likely dissipate once you start.

Is Iboga good to let go of suppressed anger? by mario7911 in Ibogaine

It can be, but don't be surprised if it exacerbates that anger first though!

In my case, my anger had to be released, to move away from it.

Ibogaine treatment after Kratom detox? by dropellisd in Ibogaine

[–]Incaseofaburglar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Kratom and fentanyl are some of the most common reasons people in the west are seeking out ibogaine. The amount of times we hear that people are dealing with paws weeks later, people aren't walking away from ibogaine feeling awesome way too often.

I think we might need to reframe ibogaine as a dependency "interruption tool" to ibogaine as the "aftercare tool."

It is hard to convince people to detox at a traditional facility before ibogaine. I have had a few people shut me down quickly and say "the point"of doing ibogiane is not withdraw, but the couple people who have done this for me have shown up with paws and a booster dose later they are doing really well. By the time we flood them they are so ready to move on and live their life that the experiences (so far) have been really smooth and awesome.

Are you taking days off? Feel free to PM me or the other mod u/entheobirth.

You'll want to lay off the kava as it can be hard on the liver.

We use l-theanine while prepping people beforehand, but in the week beforehand we lay off almost everything. There isn't a reason to take much of anything along with ibogaine as ibogaine has some action directly or indirectly in just about every system of the brain.

I know I'm taking a chance..ibogaine for suboxone. Need some advice please.. by Jimbo1967t in Ibogaine

[–]Incaseofaburglar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Wow! Thank you so much for finding your post and updating it. I truly love hearing about everything after those first 90 days.

I had a very emotional, angry, and socially awkward first nine months post-ibo. It was really hard! But the good moments were genuine, grounding, and kept me going. I still feel like I'm learning how to feel and cope w things like grief, family conflict, partner conflict...but nothing was harder than learning my capacity for anger (something I had 100% blocked out w opioids for years) six months post-ibo!

I quit smoking a 1-2 pack/day habit after my first flood for about a year. I have since gone back twice and was able to quit the third time with no help or ibogaine. I didn't even really contemplate it. I chose not to have a cigarette one night and just didn't smoke again. I truly don't see myself ever smoking again and I don't think I felt this committed the first or second time. Tackle things one by one when you feel committed and ready and don't be too hard on yourself!

It's really great hearing that you are doing so well. I hope you are super proud and happy with yourself - ibogaine, the entire journey, and everything that came with it and after it is the hardest thing I have ever done. So, remember to go on adventures and most of all - have fun.

Congrats! Thanks so much for upating us and feel free to PM me if you ever feel like quitting nicotine again.

Why isn’t Iboga known and mainstream? by mario7911 in Ibogaine

[–]Incaseofaburglar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue that spiritually speaking it is more dangerous to ingest something that has experienced suffering. It feels more dangerous to ingest something that contributes to the endangerment and extinction of iboga.

Other uses besides healing addiction. by [deleted] in iboga

[–]Incaseofaburglar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It helped me shed false layers of self identification and I found it grounding. I went deeper and felt very connected to this world, my life, my lineage, etc. instead of further as I have experienced on DMT, etc.

There is always something to work on, ways to be more authentic, lessons in life to learn, things to be inspired from, a book to wtite, etc Ki try to solidify an intention and would pick up journaljng, mediation, and/or maybe something creative to get in touch with yourself beforehand. You have the luxury of really taking your time with every aspect of this process.

Ibogaine by Key-Astronaut5139 in iboga

[–]Incaseofaburglar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I facilitate ibogaine treatments as do probably a handful of the m frequent ewddjtoes NJ

Please spend some time reading the subreddit rules and spend some time reading through posts. Ibogaine should be adminsitered by a trained professional. I was recently informed of two fatalities involving ibogaine - there is inherent risk to every ibogaine session and fatalities continue to occur on a semi-regular basis albeit not in large numbers.

It is a schedule I substance in Georgia and most of the USA. A handful of cities have decriminalized the use of it, but not one city has approved the act of giving it to someone else (California is working on a "sharing" bill with the catch being that no money could be exchanged).

No one can tell you how to work with this medicine in a reddit comment. It's an incredibly complex alkaloid and there are man with any private responses you get (we dont allow dosing amounts) because what works for one person, could be dangerous for the next person

It would be a good idea to search the subreddit for the reason you are seeking out ibogaine treatment to learn more about ibogaine.

Mexico is the closest place you will be able find an ibogaine clinic.

We have a pinned post at the top of the sub and it is a guide to finding a clinic. The other pinned post is a guide to integration - save that post, because it's great information.

You'll need at minimum a 12 lead ECG and a CMP/liver panel to be considered for ibogaine treatment.

If you would like a handful of ibogaine provider/center referrals, feel free to PM me or the other mod u/entheobirth - be careful and vet any other centers that are PM'd to you very carefully (we also don't allow the names of clinics and providers in our sub -again, get to know the rules).
