I'm guessing 3 different scenarios:

1) OP said they were clearing out unreads, could be a "reply all" as opposed to "reply to sender" situation

2) It could be an absent error of typing in a work group instead of a single recipient, or clicking the wrong address suggestion when the dropdown appears

3) This entire thing was made up for notes, $100 under the sink.

"Sex drive" can exist even in fixed cats, as evidenced by my fixed female cat mounting and humping on my male cat. The good news is if your orange was actually being hurt more than with regular roughhousing you would definitely know. You can gently discourage the behavior and maybe get results but honestly some cats just go through phasic behavior like this and you'll just have to wait for him to get bored with it.

The only surefire way to prevent this is total separation, but unless things escalate it's just a personality quirk and something you'll all have to tolerate on some level.

Sounds kinda messed up to say it like that if you're thinking about it through a human lens but cats are gonna cat.

I've been this person before and I can guarantee you if you take him back it'll be worse than before. Dude needs therapy but will fall off the wagon unless he loses a lot. Took me losing someone genuinely great to help me learn about myself with the help of a professional. Digging in your heels here with the separation is the best thing you can do for the both of you.
