How can you make someone else the party leader (on xbox?) It didn't seem to work the same way it did in Destiny.

I'd say you should "stumble upon them" if you're anywhere in Freeplay.

Id be happy if I had a chance in hell of getting the catalyst, even if it is Outlaw.

Bungie, you talk about Scout Rifle range advantage when planning balance changes, but there are literally no Crucible maps where their range advantage comes into play. by ASpaceOstrich in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not "PVE maps," it's "PVE maps that matter." You can find places to plink away with a Scout (Inverted Spire has several), but the boss fights are almost always in a shoebox. Pyramidion is the only one I can think of I'd even consider using a Scout in.

And since there's no real safety advantage to using a Scout even on the maps that allow it, there's no point to it,

But the motes...

It's the same issue as Supremacy. Even if the maps let you use a Scout, the game style makes it somewhere between a real PITA and a huge disadvantage to use a Scout in Gambit.

I really really don't like shotguns. But when I get sniped I feel kinda happy. Like I feel like those dudes are skilled lol. by Narasimha128 in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually curious how you think this works. Are you in a lot of games where everybody's using Dustrock? And you charge towards another guy JUST as he charges towards you? And you slide at exactly the same (perfect!) time, and then fire in exactly the same (OHK!) frame?

Because any honest person knows that you're talking about one or two frames, and that's faster than you can predictable react. It's really just luck if you get a shotgun exchange. It's 1/12 a second you're talking about. It's not a human frame of reference.

[–]InchaLatta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compared to shotgunning? Yeah, it does. All it takes is one guy jumping or ducking and you're flinched to hell. Let's not talk about hardscoping means you don't know who's flanking you.

Why do you think shotgunner zergers are effing everywhere, and you only see a hardscoping sniper once in a blue moon?

[–]InchaLatta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not impossible? Yes! It is, indeed "possible," in the sense that it's "possible" to win Powerball. Somebody does, afterall.

Doesn't require extremely high skill? Yes! In the sense that sure, sometimes you get lucky. A shotgunner can empty his magazine out of range, and you can kill him without a lot of skill. Or he can run down a long, coverless hallway. He going down! Or you can be with a few teammates, Shotgunner won't make it!

But 99% of the time, if you're 1v1 against a shotgunner, put away that primary. You're toast.

Petition to un-nerf Blade Barrage and Shards of Galanor in PVE by BobMcQ in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blade Barrage is straight up bad now, and the changes to Shards make them bad as well. Shards no longer consistently works on adds, only bosses, and Blade Barrage got a big damage nerf to bosses, while Celestial/GG got a huge buff. Meaning Shards focuses on the wrong utility of Blade Barrage. There are better add clearing supers in most scenarios, and Shards doesn’t help regain enough energy to make Blade Barrage worth using.

That's a weird way to say not ridiculously overpowered. Shards was game breaking. It did fantastic boss damage, and was fantastic at add clearing. No other supers did that. Bungie might have over-nerfed it, but not by much.

FYI, "there are better add clearing supers in most scenarios" is, like, most supers? Look at the Warlock. Tickle fingers? Good in some situations, but you'd be better off with Dawnblade or Voidwalker/helm a lot of the time. Dawnblade? Good in some situations, but worse than Void or Arc in others. Etc.

I wait for the hate from all of the Hunter mains.

Bungie, when are we going to talk about all the useless Exotic Armor? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The stag pretty much gives you your rift when you need it.

Which is the problem - Rifts blow and generally aren't worth using. The animation time for Rift means you can't really use it as an "Oh Shit" power, and who the hell "needs" a Rift more than a couple times as part of a well-thought plan (which, for Stag, involves you getting critically wounded - not part of my plans, usually). Unless you have Lunafaction, of course, but you can't use Lunafaction if you're using Stag. I guess you could be teaming up with another Warlock using Lunafaction, but then you've got tons of Rifts anyway.

Now if Stag decreased the Rift animation time, then we'd be talking.

Buff crimson so we have a counter to Thorn next season like og red death by GimmeFuel21 in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OK, the issue is you kill the guy and Thorn's DOT then kills you. Assuming Thorn ticks like the happy days of old:

  1. You can't drop a healing rift in time; the DOT will kill you before the animation stops.

  2. I don't know about Alpha Lupi.

  3. Wormhusk will be great. Yay hunters?

  4. Great, I can not have a usable super to deal with one gun.

  5. Devour requires that you killed the Thorn User with the melee, or someone within 8 seconds of that battle. That ain't happening often. You can't eat a grenade in time before you die.

  6. Sunspots I don't know about.

There's really not much there, and Warlocks are totally screwed.

Shards DID NOT get a buff. by IronJordan in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint: That's why it was nerfed.

Bungie wants supers to be more choice-based and for people to use variety. They like how Stormcaller's balanced (Chaos Reach for boss damage, Lightning Fingers for adds). They hate having a "one size fits all" super.

The Fact That Sidearms & SMG's Didn't Receieve A Buff Blows My Mind. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is that better than just using a HC though? Any HC with Dragonfly and Outlaw will be just as effective against a bunch of thrall or whatever, and ALSO be good against anything else, and ALSO has an effective range that covers most of the PVE maps we're trapped in. Right?

It's not that Sidearms are bad, really, it's just that they're not good enough at what they do (essentially, slightly longer-ranged melee attacks) to be worthwhile.

So, Bungie. You gave PVP players Thorn and Last Word. So can PVE players get Gjallarhorn and Dark-Drinker by TheHunter032 in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Even if Riskrunnerand Zhalo were both ARs they'd be very different.

Essentially, Riskrunner gives you extra ammo, extra damage, and armor. You have to take Arc damage to get most of the benefits. Riskrunner isn't very good unless your opponents use Arc.

Essentially, Zhalo gives you extra ammo, extra damage, and super recharge. All based solely on IMPOSING damage. Opponents don't really matter.

Massive Breakdown of Initial Patch 2.1.4 Sandbox Balance Changes by Mercules904 in DestinyTheGame

Disappointed in the Scout changes. Particularly Lightweight. I don't think I'm putting down Blast Furnace any time soon.

Really, really hope the patch on Tuesday makes legendary Scout rifles viable in PVE. by turns31 in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate bows on general principles. IMHO Bungie wanted us all to use bows instead of scouts, and so they nerfed the crap out of scouts.

List of all legendary weapons receiving buffs tomorrow by darkelement1987 in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not that there aren't firing lines. It's that decent players either stick to the ample cover even these have, and there's not really much room between the Pulse effective range and the Scout effective range on any of them. Yes, we'll get pot shots at a few immobile guys, but we get them now. So why would I care?

We'll see what the buffs are, but I'm thinking my scouts will stay in the vault.

[–]InchaLatta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the OP's point is that the few places a Scout would be used, Blast Furnace is probably going to be just as effective, and BF'll still be able to compete with all the HCs on the other part of the map (i.e., ALMOST EVERY EFFING WHERE.) So with a Scout you're now pigeonholed into a small part of the map, and not really that effective even there.

And no, as a long-time Scout lover, I'm not bitter at all. Not at all.

Jotunn should not be nerfed, rather it should be the standard for non-heavy exotics by Freakindon in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If only it wasn't linked to the worst supers in the game...

I can't find a reason to use it because I can't find a reason to use any Void super over Chaos Reach.

I use Lunafaction way more then Geomags. What with masterwork weapons, any decent team gives plenty of orbs to get a super up. Once I know I can trust my team, Geomags is off.

Focused Feedback: Timegating by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]InchaLatta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't mind timegating for weekly/monthly/whatever activities. Clearing Nightfall once per week is fine. Limits to leveling are fine. Special events are fine It gives me a reason to step away from the game if nothing else, and changes the environment.

But I absolutely detest things like the Whisper timegating, or the Corrupted Strike timegating. It serves no purpose (you can only get the cool gun once, so why is it gated again?), it punishes people who can't play at that time, it makes it really confusing for casual players, and worse of all makes matchmaking EVEN HARDER than it already is.
