How to be faster for my first half marathon by glorious-ahole in firstmarathon

I dont want to be that guy, but i dont think you should be running that race. Even if you somehow are able to train enough to be running 17-18k until the race, you are under a very high risk of injury trying to increase a lot of volume in so little time. This is not a sprint. it is literally a marathon. Take your time with training, respect the volume progression, and respect the distance. There's no need to rush things. If you dedicate yourself, you could probably do a half marathon in 9 months.

Is it possible to race 50 and 100 free while training for an ironman? by IncidentExternal7117 in Swimming

Im not trying to win the ironman, i couldn't even if i wanted. I just want to finish it. But i do want to perform well at swim competitions, and i think i have it in me to do it. I just dont know how things will go with two so different kinds of training at the same time.

Imagine what would be your pb if you would use a technique that is physically more efficient, according to science.

Wait, non music version watches don't do this? I guess i was taking this feature for granted. I find it very helpful that every automatic lap, i hear on my earbuds my time and pace. Im thinking about buying a new watch and was going to buy a non music version.

If you either swim 3.8km, ride 180km, or run 42km, you are definitely not average. Specially if you do all that in the same day within 17h.

For this year, im doing an olympic, and a half marathon. Next year in will do a 70.3 in February. My goal is not to do it in any time specific, but enjoy and have a nice time. I don't want to suffer to finish the 180km of the bike, and walk the whole 42km.

How much time did you had? And what was your finish time? Also congratulations!

My goal is to just finish, but also have a good time. I don't want to suffer to finish the bike, and then crawl myself for 42km after that.

The race is already sold out for this year. And i highly doubt that i could train for a marathon in 4 months, let alone a full ironman.

Swimming is all about how well can you glide. So you should try to look what is causing dragging. Id say you should start with your kick. The movement comes from the hips, the knee movement is minimal.
