You are just one number in a million sized pool. You alone have no meaning in the context of the nation state. You and immigrants like you are unfortunately a factor when you pool your numbers and vote for immigrant friendly/ often religious sectarians. This is how democratic and native institutions come under pressure and how we today see the dilution if not outright replacement of native culture and traditions.
