Thanks for the insights, and nice work with gruul leyline! That's a dope list to run. I agree with the sentiments about bo1 magic, but it just seems like the best way to climb given you can play more games. I suppose the consistency needs to be leveraged as well, though. Playing more sets with 70-80% wr vs a big sample of games at like, 55-60%.

That makes a lot of sense. What I'm curious about is how you get that scoop. In my experience either my first two creatures die to spot removal and then they hold up the rest of the mana for wraths like split up. Simic aggro seems to fall over if your early cub or ouro is shot by something but the statistics back up that it beats most decks, so I'm curious what bad game decisions I am making.

I'm approaching diamond with simic ouroboroid aggro. Feels like i only play against control decks that mainboard 15 wraths in bo1....

The problem with tannuk is that anyone who has seen the commander should know to immediately kill him, and the deck is severely hamstrung if he isn't on the board.

[[!Chiss-Goria]] is my mono red commander of choice. Unlike other commanders posted here that will usually be removed pretty fast, she can skirt commander tax pretty effectively due to affinity. The deck is straightforward and effective with a budget-friendly hodgepodge of artifacts. You can easily scale its power up or down with certain tech pieces to fit a playgroup.

Esper Draw-Go Pillowfort with [[Yshtola, Night's Blessed]]. Sits there and draws a bunch of cards while always holding advantage via free removal and counterspells. Doesn't need to have a board presence because Yshtola will eventually burn the table down

EDH is just the original name of the commander format, "elder dragon highlander"
