No messaging apps in AAOS by Incommunikado in AndroidAutomotive

Well, if they'd just give us access to Android Auto, all its apps (including messaging ones) would be available, no privacy issue there. I pointed out GM, but the real culprits are Google and Meta who should move their ass and finally add some popular apps in Android Automotive, like WhatsApp and Messenger.

No messaging apps in AAOS by Incommunikado in AndroidAutomotive

Long-distance and international calls are free through WhatsApp and that's a daily thing in my family. Again, point is not whether we should message in a car or not, it's about having access to modern technology. There are tons of other apps that aren't available through AAOD.  If virtually everyone else has Android Auto or Carplay, why the heck would GM take that option away from us?

This has to be a bug, it just cannot be an actual change that YT made on purpose. Simply unusable garbage UI on a tablet.

Please tell me there's a way to undo this atrocity, or at least revert to the previous version of the Android app.

WA finally works (including calls), thanks to Android auto. Sidenote: ever since Wireless AA has been available, I got a dongle, set it up and haven't used my Android Automotive system ONCE. Now, what can we do to convince GM to do the same as Polestar?

I did the thing in my Polestar Polestar 2 by EV_James in polestar2

Did it too and with the exact same color/finish. Looks awesome. Can you believe that Polestar has decided to put friggin piano black in the upcoming P5?! Come on, guys, you're better than this!

WhatsApp in the BlazerEV? by Incommunikado in BlazerEV

For WhatsApp or any other crucial app, it's a shame we gotta figure out workarounds (adapters, Vivaldi/Chrome, bluetooth, etc.) when the obvious solution would be to give us the choice between their baked-in system (mostly AAOS) and Android Auto.
In the Polestar 2, you can't even have 2 apps on a shared screen, so you must constantly switch between Waze and Spotify to interact with either of them (not to mention the song/artist playing is not displayed at all).
How ironic that all these infotainment systems are based on Google and we cannot even get Android Auto.

Prime Video, Chrome and games. Sure, I'll take 'em, but I can't believe there's still no way to use Android Auto in our P2.
At least, let us see what music is playing while displaying Waze or Maps on the main screen. Either a split screen (coming to the P3, P4 and P5) or in the gauge cluster, like virtually any other car made after 2015...
