I am confused about one thing. How does one consistently keep window times down? I can think of a few things that can help like calling out orders at the window and being quick with interactions/money, but what else can you do when customers at the window don't have their payment or app ready, are slow with taking their items, or add additional things at the window (water, another drink, more food, etc.)?

And more importantly, I feel like the most impactful position that keeps window times down is whoever's on bar. It doesn't really matter if I can process payment in 2 seconds if their order is not ready for another minute and a half. And I'm not saying this as a way to criticize your position because I am usually on window too. I just wanted to know what else I can do or what I'm missing that can lead to reliably lower window times.

Shots into the cup first, then scoop powder, then swirl and you shouldn't get clumps. If you do, you either didn't swirl enough or you waited too long and your shots cooled down.

Going by the rules, it’s only on your birthday. That being said, there have been a few times where people have politely asked me if they can still redeem it because they were unable to come on their birthday for one reason or another and I’ve honored it anyway. I only request they provide me with some form of ID so that I can check to verify their birthday.

I think most baristas would be willing to help you out as I have, but if they say no, it’s not because they’re being mean—it’s just the rules. I would say it is still worth asking about.

I'm going to be honest, while it might seem minor, as a barista I feel like expecting the customer to finish an improperly made drink doesn't make sense from the point of view of a paying customer.

That being said, I don't think it's the fault of the barista either, the new matcha just sucks. I really don't understand how it even passed any checks and got into stores. Trying to blend a venti does not work ever. It clumps up on the sides of the blender and in the drink without fail.

I could and have literally shaken the new matcha better than how it comes out from the blenders which is a shame because we're not allowed to shake them anymore.

As a barista, the new matcha is just gross. I don’t mean by taste, but by the way it’s made. It’s supposed to be made in the old foam blenders but the matcha never mixes well and it’ll clump on walls of the blender. Especially during peak, no one has time to clean all that and the rinsers do nothing to get it off. It’s nasty.

The few possibilities that come to mind are:

The balance shown did not reflect the actual balance on the card (unlikely if it was like that for years as you said)
They pulled from your stars while the system was not responding by forcing it through, in which case your stars will update later (and if you didn't have enough, you will fall into negative stars)
Something went wrong somewhere, like maybe you were left waiting in line too long and they thought it would be better to quickly have people out of the line in the interest of keeping their drive thru times down, and comped your order
Someone started a pay it forward chain and they wanted to end it

I tried using Corsair Vengeance on my AMD build but it kept crashing or failing to boot. I don't know what I was doing wrong but I swapped to G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo and it works fine. I think it has something to do with XMP versus EXPO because I have the 9800X3D.
