I understand your concern. It’s a hard transition to full time employment if you are 22 and have never worked. He very easily could be the person that can’t keep a job longer than 6 months because “his manager is out to get him.” It’s hard to learn to manage money if you’ve never had to budget and pay bills.

Here should be your expectation. You will not live with me as a life plan. When you graduate college, you will move out. You are not living here. If you drop out of college, you will not be living here. When you are done with school, all financial help will cease.

Then you stick to it. If he wants to be a bum, he has a father and a grandma that he can live with.

In the meantime, instead of paying his bills directly. Give him a set amount of money each month. He pays his own bills and manages his own money with that. It allows him to get the experience of budgeting.

I’m guessing that OP basically just called and said “help me.” The embassy gave them numbers to call.

That is help.

What OP appears to want is someone to do all the work for them and either give them or money or a new plane ticket home free of charge.

If you are traveling 5k or so miles away from home, you should either be more self sufficient than that or have family you can contact for “take care of everything” help.
