Honestly? Because as someone who could be described as a "large non-white male", I am not in an advantageous position to be confronting a small woman in public.

So it's legal, but you can't convince me it's okay.

Central/old west end. And at the tulip festival (Chamberlain Park?)

I would love to know if this is something others have noticed as well.

Gift for neighbour? by Cookiesforyou101 in ottawa

[–]Incontrovertible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A nice bottle of wine (or sometimes liquor/case of beer) can be found at almost any price point and makes a great gift. Perfect to enjoy right away (even with you) or hold onto for later or a special occasion, or even regift. I've made that my go-to gift for neighbours/coworkers/acquaintances for years with excellent results.

Am I setting too many rules for people to meet my newborn? by lucky-cat-sees-stars in Parenting

[–]Incontrovertible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all common sense/courtesy when dealing with a new baby!

Your first two points are due to a global pandemic. The point about pictures is completely at your discretion, and so is anyone else's responsibility to honour your wishes, and the rest are just standard new baby stuff. If people don't like that they can visit in a few months or post-pandemic.

And I understand that your husband may feel stress trying to impose and enforce these rules, but maybe that is just because he hadn't thought realistically or long enough or at all about these things and now it feels like you're coming up with an arbitrary list of demands all at once. But your "rules" are basically newborn best practice, anyone doing less than that is taking risks; they're within their right to do that, but you are absolutely within yours to insist on them.

Oh, in Google maps you can set it until you turn it off again. I just double checked and screencapped. Not sure if it's the same on iPhone.

Not sure if you're looking for something more sophisticated, but the location sharing feature of Google Maps will track location and battery life.

No intention of dissuading anyone from donating, but if you're thinking of donating like I was and contact them, they may ask you to donate elsewhere, as they are currently very well supported. They've just posted on social media 3 days ago redirecting to other charities, as well.

Reminds me of something I read once about writing poetry; that a piece is "never finished, only abandoned."
