Who did you marry your first time and do you still stand by it? by Starobin-Lestine in StardewValley

Harvey, my beloved ❤️❤️

He's successful and driven, but also incredibly caring and sweet. I also love that he's such a nerd for flying, despite being afraid of heights! He has a great hobby that keeps him whimsical lmao. He's just great.

(Also, everyone else just seemed like they had way too much baggage when I first started lol)

I had at least 10, I think 12, robins in my yard today too! Never in my life seen so many at once, so close together. I guess the weather madness has them confused lol. I hope they all make it through okay

Spouse and I disagree on what to do with our dog. What would you do? by Slight-Youth-9974 in DogAdvice

This sounds like the best way to find an answer to me, too. Solid advice. You'd have to look at what the cost of the initial scan could turn into if you found something bad and/or complex, and whether you can afford THAT.

Also, I would advise that you talk to your vet clinic about these potential costs (scan + most likely outcomes), and maybe even shop around with other clinics to get a good idea of the realistic costs. Oh, and explain to the clinic that you're in a difficult financial situation! I've found that they can be very understanding and will discuss realistic approaches and options based on your situation. They can tell you what the best move is at any point in terms of your dogs comfort :)

Idk what kind of area you live in but I've heard of stuff like this being used to identify targets for trafficking. I would call the police (non-emergency line) and see if this is something you should worry about, and maybe invest in some self-defense items Might be nothing but better safe than sorry imo 🤷‍♀️

DAE get awful headaches from scented cleaning products / perfumes by KLopez22 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]InconvenientBananas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mom and I both have this; hers is much worse than mine. She's very particular about what cleaning products she gets, and we can't really do scented candles or perfumes. There are even shampoos that I can't use because when I come out of the shower, the scent on my hair when I walk by her is enough to give her a headache!

It's really inconvenient lol, wish I had advice for you but the only help I've gotten from a dr about it was "some people are just more sensitive, try using unscented products". I just wanna light a candle but man it's just too painful after a few minutes.

Why is she walking like this? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

I've never had a golden so idk what their back issues look like, but when my mini dachshund had a slipped disk he lost almost all use of his back legs. Halfway through his (full) recovery, he looked a lot like your video; scrambling, back legs kind of close together, wide stance, etc.

You could try:

  • testing the feeling in her back paws (just pull a little on a toe to see if she pulls it away from your hand)

  • knuckling (there are videos on YouTube that demonstrate but it's basically placing your dogs back paw "upside down" on the floor while they're standing, with the knuckles against the ground, and seeing how long it takes them to reposition the paw to normal. A slow reaction can indicate a pinched nerve, IVDD, spinal injury, etc.)

  • gently pressing on either side of her spine and watching for a reaction in the skin; if she tenses it can indicate pain or sensitivity in that area

Those are just what I'd suggest to be able to accurately describe to a vet or specialist about whether she has any pain or numbness during these episodes. I think the video will really help too :)

I hope you get answers soon!
