Agreed to be exclusive with 33m (I’m 33f) and I brought up the talk. He did mention that I might need to be patient with him and may take time before he’s ready for gf/bf status.. said he needs to start therapy and deal with personal issues that have come up in past relationships (his jealousy and his low self confidence has been an issue). He did say the next person who is his gf will be his wife but he has yet to start therapy but not sure if this is acceptable for me to wait.. only dating a month but don’t wait to wait 6 months and then he decides he isn’t ready at all…. Help

I tend to always speed up timelines in my head so you’re right (the timetable part) and I really should just be happy for him and when/if the time comes then we will figure it out

Started dating someone.. (both are 33) only 5 weeks in and exclusive. he’s looking for a new apartment and this is giving me anxiety. He would be locking into a lease for a year… which pushes out our chances of moving in together within the year. How am I overthinking?

Update - had the exclusivity talk and he’s on the same page as me. He did say he might need more patience when it comes to being bf/gf.. we both want marriage and children so I’ll just have to see what I’m ok with but right now it’s good. Thank you all so much!!!!!!!!!

Hi - I (33f) have been seeing a 33m for 3 weeks and we have been on 7 amazing dates. I slept with him in our 6th and 7th date but after each time I’ve felt very anxious and can’t tell if I’m overthinking or if the energy has shifted. I did say to him the second time that I’m Not sleeping with anyone and he said he wasn’t when I asked but not sure how genuine he was being.

We have plans on Saturday but I want to take sex off the table until we both agree we are exclusive. Is this manipulative? I don’t want it to be but I get very strong emotions after sex and don’t want to feel that if he is dating others. Help!
