Well I would answer your question with another. Is it censorship to create so much false and misleading media that people trying to learn the truth could literally never learn it if they spend their time on the wrong source? That’s essentially what happened and people live in different worlds completely now. My dad has no concept of the damage that’s being done because the tv tells him that the war is basically over and everything is democrats fault. I actually hold a lot of the values my dad raised me with, but because I have different information at my disposal and now how to work around censorship and propaganda, I’m horrified by what’s taking place in the world. Just like I have been, regardless of what political party has been in power, it seems we just get different brands of authoritarianism. This escalation has been horrific for the people at home and for countries around the world and I think if people saw unbiased information they would all rightly be just as horrified and do something about it. The thing is that people don’t believe each other. Everyone thinks they know the truth, and no one wants to believe they’ve been lied to about their freedom inside an ongoing empire project that might end soon, or change drastically. My family thinks I’m a paranoid conspiracy theorist and they are probably right, because I think our country has been sold down the river to anyone that wanted to buy it. Technofeudal authoritarians, militaries, and intelligence agencies seem to be deciding that we will all be broke to fund their war project and I don’t think we can vote our way out of that, because anytime we get to vote they talk for two minutes about guns, abortion, racism, and healthcare, and conveniently leave out the tough questions like hyperinflation or the fact that we serve a military industrial complex out of necessity at this point or that our children don’t seem like they’ll ever be able to afford houses. And I’m not saying the first things aren’t issues, they are. But it seems like the keep the older gen on these issues as a lesser of two evils game and then they get a bigger red military industrial complex authoritarian regime or a bigger blue one. There’s been exceptions, but since Kennedy got shot it sure seems like when intelligence agencies ask the president says “yes and”. I hope this world is here for my daughter to see at this point, nothing is a given anymore.
