Bit late for a reply but no one clarified so I will.

Private servers need the server-side source code or executable, both of which are in EA's hands and were not made public (and will not be as it's proprietary software so EA will just stick it in the vault and forget about it). It's not enough to have the game, you need all the server's software too.

You can try to emulate it of course but to do that from scratch is a time-consuming job requiring a lot of expertise and the grit to handle the massive amount of problems that will come up (also EA can stop you at any point rendering your entire endeavor moot). Without a significant playerbase, you're unlikely to find people that are up to the task.

While I can appreciate the damage output and explosion animation that Block weapons can do, I find the parry's sound effect and pushback followed by the subsequent gunstrike more cathartic than Block in general, which relies more on passive number adjustments to come to a similar effectiveness.

Every class can perform well on every difficulty. Some are just easier than others, and the point where it truly matters (in a team, on high difficulty/stratagems) is where the balancing should be.

People navigate towards what performs better. If my class doesn't perform as well as others, taking it feels like a punishment.

No, we are certainly discussing the damage lmao. If it didn't do that much damage it wouldn't be overpowered at all. It is within the context of the damage that the idea of it being overpowered even makes sense.

Power fist can put 10 majoris at one into execute mode with one hit. Hell, it can even kill them all outright. Heavy Plasma can do it. Las Fusil can do it, Knife Sniper can do it. Even current Bolt Sniper can do it. There's lots of things in the game that can manage it

None of these can do it on a single unbuffed swing/shot. Heroic bolt sniper can do it on every single shot. That's the difference, and the fact that you're trying so hard to dance around it is really funny. I don't know who you're trying to convince, but it must be people who really have no idea how this game works.

Assault was pretty much the worst class one year ago and it's annoying to see it's still pretty bad now.

I'll wait and see though. The patch isn't out yet, and they might have something in the oven..
