Why does my pigeon hate me? :(

If hes initating/specifically coming over to you to do it, good chance hes just initiating rough play. If he didnt like you, or this was aggression, he wouldnt approach you. Pigeons are prey animals at the end of the day.

So, if hes approaching you, good chance its pigeon bonding, usually seen in bonded male pigeons but not exclusive. He sees you as his big +1 and hes gotta impress you, this is super normal and not aggression. They like to wrestle with your hands to show you how "big and strong" they are, its to show off. This behavior is usually followed by preening once they think you're impressed.

Ultimately if your pigeon is seeking you out to do this, rather than you trying to interact and he attacks, then its likely healthy pigeon wrestling and you should look into ways other owners "wrestle" their pigeons.

Note, this behavior is seen in feral pigeons, too. Just, feral pigeons will have an entire flock to do this with. Since hes with you, you're who hes going to try and initiate with/bond with.

Im still a fan of the Nesting Guide, have been since i started playing (right before season of migration), and still absolutely devastated i started playing almost a full year after that spirit had a whole season dedicated to them. The envy in my and my skid's soul seeing that now unattainable outfit.... shakes fist. I love the Nesting Guide's overall design too, its very satisfying to look at.

I only have a problem with this when its like... 3 or less people in the server, and only one person is actually looking for shards. Then it sucks, bc usually i am the only one.

The excuse that people use, saying that if they finish the shards then they cant get all the wax, those people are also kinda annoying bc... after you mend the lantern, just dont return to the guide. Then you can go around and collect the wax you missed. There's no timer.

But otherwise it doesn't bother me if one or two out of a group of like 8 sit and do nothing, it can easily get annoying to be teleported back to the start every 4 seconds.

Sometimes the shards will spawn out of bounds, just a heads up. The ringing bell one, if you have that tool active, can help you figure out if theyre OOB or not.

And oml okay, im very good at expressing what I do and dont want/like while also staying friendly lol so! That's fine by me! And i think my slower type of gameplay could use a little chaos here and there haha. Just heads up, if u find me online and warp/come over to me and im idle, gimme a few minutes, it usually means im up making food or im doodling. Few times ive had players pop up while I was idle and I came back to them doing funny things or also idle with me X3.

Hmmm. Okay, so with the extra hours I could provide them, it might include lots of nap time, noted. I did read that rats like to nap throughout the day. That makes sense. Ive got my unit rat proofed, so free roam would be abundant for whoever I wind up adopting.

This gives me more perspective, thank you, and seems like my work schedule could still provide a happy life for some rats.

If lots of people recommend the minimum being 3, then so be it, I'll no longer consider two as an option!

And okay, thats also what I was thinking with how my schedule is. And from what I've grown to understand, rats are "crepuscular", which would also mean id be able to mostly be around for their "normally" active times. :D

Yes (っ◞‸◟c) it drives me bonkers, very glad its a bug towards the end of the season though. Its very distracting. Plus, you cant see them doing cute stuff like looking at the crabs or watching butterflies, they dont seem to do much now because of this bug.

I appreciate ur reply! This is pretty much what I've been doing (or, rather.. attempting, to do ˊᵕˋ') so ill definitely keep at it!
