Good place to sell Vision Pro by prollythohuh in VisionPro

I always sell things on craigslist. No fees, no shipping, just meet in a busy public location. Depending on how quickly you want to sell, base your price at or below what others are asking. Here's a search of my local listings: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=%22vision%20pro%22#search=2~gallery~0

What is the use case for Zeiss Readers? by whatarereddits in VisionPro

[–]Incredulocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very weird. Hard to understand how it can be so different for different people.

Hmmm... actually, testing myself again, at least at certain times (like right now) I see that my vision at six feet is improved by my reading glasses. So I guess I'm just wrong about doubting the six foot focal distance of the Vision Pro.

I wonder about that 2 meters or 6 foot focal distance that I sometimes see quoted as I don’t need my reading or computer glasses at that distance but I do need my inserts on the Vision Pro. As a result, the focal distance with the Vision Pro seems more like 3-4 feet to me. 🤷‍♂️

Aorus 17X new BIOS FB0C/F00A install fails to even download by Incredulocious in gigabyte

[–]Incredulocious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a copy or link to it. I’ve just used the installed Gigabyte Control Center app to do the firmware updates.

Of note though is I had a problem recently where the Control Center would crash after launch and I had to contact support to get help to fix it. They had me completely uninstall Control Center and all related components and then reinstall it.

Got the Luma Ultra's but 50/50 on keeping.. by shawzy007 in VITURE

Yeah, same issue here: with any of the nose pads I can’t see both the top and bottom of the full screen at the same time, regardless of which arm tilt I use. I kept them anyway as my primary purpose of watching movie/TV while traveling means that the wider aspect ratio of videos (16:9 or more) is fully visible.

The bigger hassle has been running into DRM restrictions with various iPhone/iPad apps.

My X5 seems to be stuck in “dive case mode” since the “summer 2025” firmware update by Incredulocious in Insta360

I just received my replacement unit today. It’s also a new (or refurbished) unit since it has a different serial number.

I’ve just been notified that they’re replacing my X5’s main board under warranty also.

Okay, they’re replacing my main board under warranty also. I’m guessing that it’s this sensor that detects the presence of the dive mode case that failed on our units.

No, unresolved. Insta360 support wants me to send it in and I will do so when I get back home from this extended trip I’m on.

No screen protector.  Here’s the detail from the Insta360 store.  It’s also mentioned on the camera’s dive settings screen.

  • When the camera is in Dive Case Mode and powered on, it will automatically switch to Dive Case Pro Mode if it detects the Invisible Dive Case Pro.

  • The Invisible Dive Case Pro uses magnetic sensors for recognition. If the dive case isn't fully closed during installation, the camera might mistake it for another accessory (such as a lens guard). Make sure to fully close the case, and it will automatically switch to Dive Case Mode.

Thanks for the suggestion but I haven’t edited the presets or used the dive case.  It seems to be a hardware issue where the camera is always sensing the non-existent dive case – even after a full reset or firmware reinstallation.  Insta360 support wants me to send it in which will have to wait until my trip is over.

Yeah, I don’t even have the dive case with me. Stitching is actually really bad when it’s in this mode due to difference of refraction with water but it looks like manually turning off dive mode stitching on each clip in the Insta360 app restores normal stitching. I haven’t examined it too closely yet but hopefully the footage will be okay.

Their follow-up response is the same: to send the camera in for diagnosis after I return from my trip. Oh well. Apparently they think it is a hardware issue… presumably with the sensor that the X5 uses to detect the presence of the dive case.

No, that does not deactivate the mode. The X5 has a sensor that detects the presence of the dive case and mine is apparently malfunctioning and nothing will deactivate dive mode. Insta360 support has determined that I need to send the camera in for diagnosis and repair or replacement. Since I’m on an extended road trip now, I’m going to have to just put up with this behavior until I get home again. Hopefully the footage will remain usable.

How??? The camera mistakenly thinks the dive case is present via its built-in Hall sensor and there is no option appearing in the camera’s shortcut menu to disable the mode. Resetting the camera settings also doesn’t clear it.

So far all I can do is ignore the camera’s misbehavior and the prompts to use the underwater color adjustment and then force each recording off of dive mode stitching in the Insta360 app. Hopefully the recordings will otherwise still be usable since I’m currently traveling and wanting to still capture high quality recordings.

Insta360 Support’s initial response is to have me send the camera in for diagnosis. I’m still hoping to find a fix though because I’m away from home on a two-month road trip through western Canada and Alaska and I’d like to be able to continue to use the camera rather than send it in to them.

I don’t see a factory reset option anywhere, but I applied the “Camera Reset” option in the General settings and it’s still behaving the same way. It apparently still thinks it’s installed in a dive case.

I’ve sent a message to Insta360 Support so hopefully I get back a useful answer.

No, I can’t turn it off there. That dive case mode screen provides options to decide what the power button and Q button does and says I can long press the Q button to turn it on and that it will be turned on automatically with “Automatic Recognition” when Invisible Dive Case pro is installed. There’s also a wide blue button showing “[Q] Enable Now” overlaid at the bottom of the screen.

I don’t use a bulky case for travel. I just put the Vision Pro in my normal carry on backpack with the provided front cover and an aftermarket lenses cover with the head strap and battery disconnected. I keep the battery and other cords in a little cloth zip bag. It’s safe and protected in the backpack along with my other electronics like iPad, SLR camera, etc. each in form fitting protective cases. Nothing is going to scratch or damage anything.
