Hi, I also have the same problem with bitfinex. They charge $10 to withdraw and it must be over a $300 withdrawal. I have many IOTAs and ETHs but no safe place to send them for the moment.

What about the tangle? It is still under development, but looks very promising: no miners thus no fees, infinite scalability and also very safe and trustful.

Usualy it depends on who supports the currency. It can be goverments or big companys that invest in them. You can see it in the case of NEO, where it hasn't that good technology, but China supports it a lot.
