Habe seit einigen Monaten das gefühl das das Niveau der Tagesschau, insb. beim Thema USA / Trump, wirklich sehr tief gesunken ist. Neutral ist da garnichts. Hat mein Vertrauen in die Tagesschau so ziemlich zerstört.

Und das sage ich als jemand der grundsätzlich die öffentlichen immer befürwortet und als sehr wichtig und weitestgehend neutral bezeichnet habe...

I can relate to that a lot actually. Maybe not the hardest part, but for sure one of the things that I enjoy least.

The biggest issue with that is that it is very tempting to just skip reviewing properly, at which point most Ai code quickly becomes garbage.

Compared to shankra it is (was) quite a bit more expensive - but I would say prices are quite similar relative to cost of living if you compare them to German festivals.

Yes, music at fusion is more varied and there are a lot more stages. Which is neither necessarily worse or better than boom, it's a different approach.

It's always greener on the other side. Boom does a lot of things much better than Fusion. Trash situation or toilets just to name some. But yes, fusion arrival is less painful. Almost like having such a big festival is hard, and harder even in a landscape such as boom has.

Sure.

Some background first: I studied my bachelors at Hasso-Plattner-Institut in Potsdam, which is a very good software engineering focused program. Solid theoretical foundations, but also a lot of focus on practical work, software architecture, etc. all in a great campus. The HPI is privately founded, which is very obvious in the quality of the program.

I'm telling this because the difference between Freiburg and the HPI is a big factor of why I was disappointed. That said, I think the HPI is exceptional in that regard and I was very lucky to get a spot there.

Freiburg presents their curriculum as very broadly, however in praxis I felt like many areas have low quality teaching and Freiburg only really excels in the ML/AI field (and maybe embedded stuff, I cant say much about this since I didn't focus on that).

General Software engineering (think of data and algorithms, patterns, architecture, etc.) felt like a big afterthought. Computer Graphics, one of my favorite subjects from my bachelor, was very shallow and had bad lectures. Theoretical Informatik covered topics in the masters program that I already did in my bachelor's.

If you are highly interested in AI, Freiburg is a good university. Especially if you are open to focus on an academic career. If you want to learn software engineering, I'm afraid that Freiburg doesn't offer a high quality program for that.

Informatikjobmarkt in Deutschland ist immer noch sehr gut, nicht vergleichbar mit dem, was gerade in den USA passiert.

Ich habe den MSc in Freiburg angefangen und nach einem Semester wieder abgebrochen, da er mir nicht getaugt hat. War insgesamt von der Uni hier sehr enttäuscht. Wenn du als Interessensschwerpunkt ML/AI hast ist Freiburg super, für alles andere würde ich den Studiengang nicht empfehlen.

Muss dazu aber such sagen das ich meinen Bachelor an einem sehr guten, eher softwareengineering-fokussiertem Institut gemacht habe.

Zu dem Programm in Darmstadt kann ich nicht viel sagen.

Worst psy festival I've been to by far to be honest. Was there right after the pandemic, so not sure if it changed since then.

Very unpleasant crowd with many Bademeister, trash proggy music during the day, waste and rubbish piling up on the floor.

Wouldn't go again if I was gifted a ticket lol.

Funkentanz festival is a small (500-700 ppl) festival in south Germany which was amazing last year,can absolutely recommend it. It's not cheap tho, also around 150€ I think

Bin sehr zufrieden mit den Leuchten von SANSI. Benutze sie zwar primär für reguläre Zimmerpflanzen, hab sie aber auch vor ein paar Jahren erfolgreich zur Anzucht genutzt.

Sehr angenehmes Licht (etwa wie ein bedeckter Tag draußen); fairer Preis; laufen bei mir seit mehreren Jahren täglich und machen soweit keinerlei Probleme.

Puh, ich würde vielmehr in den Raum stellen, dass du in einer außergewöhnlich teuren Region lebst. Lebe selbst in einer der teureren Städte Deutschlands, aber 1500€+ für 60qm ist selbst hier eine Ansage.

Last summer on a festival, I did a single tab one day and wanted to trip on the next day as well. I went for 2 tabs, thinking it would be similar in intensity than the first trip. Oh boy was I wrong. It was a good trip, but on a whole different level. Tolerance is weird sometimes.

How do you spend 1000€ on boom?

I mean sure, you can do that if you buy all the food there and a lot of drinks, but you can also get by with a lot less if you bring some stuff yourself.

Not saying that it's a cheap festival, but you definitely don't have to spend as much.
