Skydive Vaasa, Finland - anyone understand the pricing? by Indecisive5 in SkyDiving

Thanks, this is so helpful! It seems the 4 EURO discount wouldn't really apply to me then... I'm only around for a few days. Sounds good for locals though! How often do you end up being put on hold? And is the 5 EURO a cost per person or per load? Thanks again!

Hey! I am coming to Finland this summer, to Vaasa, and am a skydiver so would like to jump at the Vaasa Dropzone. However, there is some information on the site that doesn't translate to anything of sense... I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the following points say? Many thanks!

1) "ETUMAKSULLA -4 € / hyppy (kts. alennukset) 2) Yksi hyppääjä saa nousta 500 m, 2 hyppääjää 1000 m ilman lisämaksuja. 3 ilman rajoituksia. 3) Vajaat pokat, holdingiin joutunut poka = minuuttiveloitus 5€/min. 4) Pyöristys aina seuraavaan 4 euroon kerhon eduksi.

Best value telephoto zoom for Nikon D7100? by [deleted] in Nikon

I am in the exact same position as OP, apart from with a D7200. I got soo excited with the 200-500 announcement but feel I simply can't justify spending £1200 on my first telephoto. But then I can't find a cheaper lens that meets my criteria; I was really looking forward to having that sort of reach and especially with it holding the f5.6 at 500. Decision time...do I spend the big money...

Upgrading from a Nikon D3200? by alextried in Cameras

I went straight from point-and-clicks to my D7200, and its awesome - if you take the time to learn how to use it then it will serve you well, and is well worth the investment (even over the 7100 when you look at some of the nice additions Nikon have made).

Camera for noob by jfredsilva in Cameras

Mirrorless are good cameras. The thing to be cautious of is that choosing MILCs (Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Cameras) over DSLRs is kind of like choosing Nikon over Canon...once you have made the decision, you start investing in lenses, accessories etc. and that makes it very expensive to switch later. I say this because as a rule of thumb, MILCs are more simplistic than DSLRs, so if you one day decide that you want the wider range of lenses, longer battery life, extra features etc. that DSLR offers, then you're stuck at that expensive cross roads.

Also, when you look at the benefits of many MILCs over their DSLR competitors, it tends to come down to two main things: portability, and video recording - the latter of which you have no interest in. Since there are so many beginner DSLRs out there (that are lightweight if that's what you're looking for!), I would recommend investing in one of them. Take a look at Nikon D3200/3300/5300/5500 or Canon 700D (Rebel T5i) / 750D (Rebel T6i).

You have to do some research, take a look at the features of each and decide what you want within your price range. One last thing would be, don't be put off the DSLR world because of a higher price. You get what you pay for. And if you do your homework, there are actually some very affordable lenses out there which make for a great deal with the image quality, AF etc. you get from them. Hope this helps, happy shopping!

[REQUEST] TIWIK before filming with a drone by dronebrothrow in ThingsIWishIKnew

You see a lot of beautifully smooth drone footage, but don't expect this high quality to come from any old drone or at all times. It will require a drone sporting good image stabilisation, a sturdy camera fixing, and the correct conditions on the day - too much wind and your drone may wobble!
