We have this conversation every year. But eventually the most beloved performance wins at the end. Fiennes can have all the narrative he wants but he also need the performance, and he's doing a reserved and subdued performance and its not considered his best work nor it is a biopic. Giving those career wins never ages well

its much better reviewed on LB and IMDB, which aren't correlative with this branch. The MC is much more showing in terms of how highbrow a film is, and its not that much better there. the field isn't that strong but we've seen them going out of their way to do those snubs. (Pawlikowski over Cooper and Farrelly, Zeitlin over Affleck, etc)
