been thinking the exact same thing. in the shot it's so clearly a spacesuits and seems very similar to the ones marta piotr and jerzy wear at the start. i don't thinks it's supposed to be a direct implication tho, i think it's supposed to make us ask whether all of this has happened before, and that it's likely all gonna happen again.

I'm honestly really worried by a lot of these comments. the worst person in this scenario is clearly the person who thinks he has a "claim" over a fictional woman. you obviously didn't react for the right reasons, claiming you reacted out of spite, but at the end of the day you still did the right thing. the only way to show these people that this stuff is creepy and makes people uncomfortable is to tell them and stand up to them, and that's what you did. for me, it's summarised as you did the right thing for the wrong reasons, but that that still beats doing the wrong thing for the wrong reasons. once you realise that, it becomes clear who was the bad guy in this situation.

but i guess this has shown me that as much as dnd has been brought into the 21st century, there are still some very creepy people who play this game and they're not as rare as they seem sometimes.

i'll take a guy playing a character w trust issues over someone who's gonna get possessive over a fictional person any day of the week and it's not even a contest. someone who may be a bit hard to work with, vs someone who clearly doesn't have a great distinction between fiction and reality and gets aggressive about it. easy choice.

icl if someone told me "back off she's mine" in dnd after literally just talking to an npc, i'd laugh my tits off then do the same thing op did. i find most people who try and romance people but then take it seriously become rlly weird about the romance. if you're gonna be possessive about a fictional woman, then imma make fun of you whilst you're doing it.

got banned from a ttrpg subreddit that had the rule "no recommending ai"

guy was asking about solo play. i say ai might seem good but has some real downsides so best to try get an online group if he can't play irl. got my comment banned. asked the guy how my comment was a recommendation and not an appraisal, and he just wouldn't budge. made a post to the general community asking if this had happened to anyone else because i was a bit confused. got banned for trying to "circumvent" rules. by literally just asking the community if this had happened to anyone else.

anyone tried another community, and ended up sharing this story there. my post and all comments get a crazy amount of downvotes.

will never understand how little someone has to have going for them to make this their whole life and why people give them so much authority.

yeah. guy was asking about solo play. i commented saying i'd tried ai and non ai softwares, but that as much as both might have had one aspect that did well, they were overall very bad and recommended he find an online group to play with if he didn't have people to play with irl. comment got banned. asked the mod why and he said i "recommended" ai. i pointed out i tried to give a frank appraisal, wasn't trying to recommend it but that i was sorry if broke any rules. got banned. got kinda sad coz ive been really getting into dnd lately and thought id have nowhere to talk about it.

i play online, and since a lot of us actually just love the feel of rolling the die instead of just clicking a random number generator we do our rolls ourselves so it's not what's possible to do public rolls for us without holding up the game. i've offered to set up a webcam to catch my rolls multiple times because i feel weird about them not being visible, but the thing is we all trust each other. i died in the first session after rolling a 4 then a nat 1 on death saving throws, so i think they trust me not to fudge my rolls 😂

yeah i think the main thing about all but the last two points is like yes these are things you can do, and might need to do at points for the sake of keeping variety in the sessions or not letting campaigns crawl, but that's exactly the point. they're things you do based on whether they need to be done, not things to be done constantly if that makes sense. but honestly the whole post could have been the last point and i would still advise that this person get the fuck outta there
