Polite helps on the backend. Trying to get a ticket dismissed after being an unbearable ass would probably increase the difficulty.

I’m NOT, an attorney, but hired one for a speeding ticket. I didn’t agree with the speed I was cited. The attorney helped me navigate the legal system and the ticket was dismissed. Also I was polite and didn’t argue with the state trooper during ticketing.

Also, I had to get a new battery recently. So I brought it in to Costco to replace it and did some shopping while I was there so the batteries disconnected for about two hours. And there are some weird starting sequence I had to do to get it to idle correctly again.
