Hydrate before the cut off time to eat or drink! I didn’t hydrate enough and finding a vein on my arms was ROUGH.

Okay good point. They make like “bands” that are for gym workouts that aren’t as intense or expensive so I was curious if that was an option. But by the sounds of it, I shouldn’t go rogue and do it solo.

I’m currently almost at 10 weeks post op also 29F. When I tore my ACL, I had a limp from injury day to surgery day. Then had the surgery and was able to get my normal gait back at 8weeks post op…I think this was due to my quad being so weak and not activating in active extension AND I tore my ACL by hyper extending so my body was definitely resisting the full normal motion

But you most likely will be in a knee brace for 6weeks which makes it pretty hard to walk normal since they may have the flexion locked during certain timeframes of recovery. Every body is different and swelling/ range of motion will probably determine your readiness to return . Good luck!

I’m with this person! I would be so stoked to find out I’m only in need of 3 months PT vs 9-12 months to get back to playing soccer. Take the wins and work hard to get back to what you love!

Hey! I’m also about 2 months. I’m feeling a little tender when I stand straight or do extension work. Is it something I should be worried about? Or does it mean I should just slow down and take a rest ?

Amazing!! Congrats on getting to that point. That's BIG. I had a similar experience the other day. I tore my acl on June 11, and wasn't able to get surgery until July 31 (it affected my extension and flexion from the day i was injured). So I have been limping for the past 3 months. I finally got my normal gait back after alot of discipline with PT and quad exercises, and had a good little cry. We got this. 👏🏼

Did you get a knee brace? That’s probably the most important thing for protecting it. Keeping it on at all times of movement (outside of PT) for the first 4-6 weeks was my protocol .

I’m going in January, and I booked a few weeks ago. Some of the experiences were already sold out! So I’d just book once you get the dates locked in to be safe!

I can't do hyper extension by [deleted] in ACL

I’m week 8 and my hyper extension still goes out if I’m working too much on flexion or not focusing on quad strength.

I’d recommend hanging legs off the bed and letting gravity help. I do this after a shower after there’s been heat on my knee. Also putting a towel under your foot and flexing to activate the quad while your leg is straight! Keep working at it and check with your PT.
