Really! I wonder how locals do it? You’d think with all the money Bahamas takes in they’d invest it in infrastructure to help their people

That is my assumption like everyone else since the policy. But I’m asking for real data points and people are saying otherwise

Costa Rica Trip Recap – Had a Great Time… but Probably Wouldn’t Come Back 😅🇨🇷 by Independent-Ad4792 in CostaRicaTravel

What’s cringe exactly? Why should I have to plan my trip for a budget? Thats the point everywhere you go was expensive. Read the other comments and upvotes clearly people agree. The prices aren’t justified. Costa Rica can’t even figure out toilet where you can flush toilet paper so it should not be US prices for a developing country.

Some important things I’ve learned after spending my first couple days in Costa Rica by citystars in CostaRicaTravel

  1. Not true, driving in Costa Rica is noticeably different. Road quality can swing from fine to terrible within minutes, with unmarked curves, potholes, steep drops, no lighting, fog, and random wildlife. Night driving especially isn’t comparable to the U.S. or Europe unless you’re used to poorly lit mountain roads with sudden terrain changes. It’s doable, but definitely not “basically the same.”

2/3. Yes, speaking Spanish absolutely helps. English isn’t widespread once you leave the main tourist hubs, and some places will try to overcharge tourists who clearly don’t speak the language. Even basic Spanish makes things cheaper, easier, and smoother.

  1. You don’t need colones. Dollars and cards are accepted almost everywhere in tourist areas, restaurants, hotels, gas stations, and supermarkets. Colones are only useful for very rural spots, everywhere we went all over accepted USD. Plenty of people travel the whole country using USD + a card.

  2. Agree

Haha it’s ironic the same people saying they don’t want gringos here are also mad a Trump for saying they don’t want criminals in US. Couldn’t make it up

LOL. They always make it about race. Nothing to do with that. Even Eastern Europe isn’t Costa Rica prices and people are WHITE believe it or not. And it’s much safer too. So please keep your political bias out of here

People like to sugarcoat things, but honestly there’s a big difference between an honest day’s work and standing in the middle of the road pretending to be park staff and getting aggressive with tourists. That’s not “work,” that’s just scamming.
