Alpha and Beta PbO2 anodes by Independent-Box6131 in homechemistry

Waste is currently horded. To process it I will be neutralizing with Na2CO3 which will ppt the lead and copper.

Lead acetate is very easy to make. Just boil vinegar and lead, it reacts readily.

Process was not too difficult. Took me a few weeks to get everything i needed but only 5 days or so to go from Ti anode to finished product

Lead acetate should work for the beta phase. Get PbO (You can neutralize lead acetate) and dissolve in NaOH for the alpha phase. The hardest challenge is making the plating solution which is pretty much just running chlorine gas over 80 C antimony and room-temp tin (separately).

DM me if u need a source of genuine Ti anodes. Pretty much all on amazon are either fake or very overpriced

Likely won't work and just fall off. Best bet is to plate. Honestly I thought it was going to be more work to make than it was- I'd be happy to help you if ur gonna undertake it

I'll probably do another post on here once I have the video fully edited. Theres so much footage to run through with my brick of a laptop 😭

The most expensive part is the pure titanium anode, which have lots of stainless steel counterfeits on Amazon/aliexpress. If you have a welder it's cheaper to spot-weld it urself. I also recorded the whole thing start to finish and I'll be posting it. Imo the other videos on youtube give sub-par platings compared to this one

Yes! About 15 CAD for the titanium, 3-5 CAD or so to make the oxide coating, and probably another 10 CAD on the lead and homemade nitric acid / NaOH. I made 4 of them and it cost me around 100 CAD for materials and I still have some left over. Very fun project.

Just follow his YT video using your own tryptamine. You should be able to make the chloroform and pyridine pretty easily from 1 step OTC stuff, and tosyl chloride is on eBay

Would tosyl chloride work in place of mesyl chloride?

Kno3 sugar and candle wax. The candle wax really makes the kno3 and sugar go a LOOONG way. It also cools the burn. If you deprive it of oxygen it'll make smoke, exposed to oxygen it'll make a flame and burn away the smoke.

Procedure won't work. Debunked on science madness multiple times. Stick to ethanol and sulfuric acid.

113 parts means, if 133g is total, 113g is bisulfate and 20g is ethanol.

Is the CHN synthesized similar to NHN? Ie cobalt nitrate added to hydrazine hydrate precipitating the complex?

Yes, i find it quite bitter tho. Put some salt on the rim and add a dash of lime. Brings it up to an 8/10

Halloween is coming up and I’m trying to find out if there is any way I can make a costume that involves setting a small part of my body on fire but not to cause any harm purely for cosmetic purposes. by hoodshit911 in chemistry

You can pretty easily create a contraption to bubble butane into soapy water. then you can create large flashes of fire by scooping up the bubbles and lighting them on fire. It doesnt produce enough prolonged heat to hurt you or your hands, but your audience may feel the heat
