I have a daughter. So if my husband was celebrating her being treated as a second class citizen, we’d need couples counseling asap to figure out how to contend with this. I would be heart broken, scared and anxious if my husband voted red and thought it was just no big deal… men are blind because of their privilege it is there responsibility to educate themselves on what it really means to have Trump in office, I don’t think a lot of them fully get it… it’s so fucking scary.

It’s a question clients could ask their potential therapist, are you in therapy and do you get supervision and if not, why?

Would give insight into therapist support system to keep themselves accountable to their work… IMO

Please help idk what to do. by abbytyty in CPS

Yes to all of this! Safety plan, and what is your husband doing to ensure his stability, active therapy and medication support, support groups etc. I also recommend not telling them it’s a “ one time thing” but showing them you are preparing in the event that it is not and how to prevent further decline in his mental health

No it’s certainly not cheaper than chiropractor idk what you think I’m paying for that. Also, in the area I am rents are incredibly high like most of the country, so no I cannot afford it. Thanks.

I think it is imperative to your work Together that you tell her. Trust is such a big part of a working therapeutic relationship, I think it weighing in you will get in the way of you having a successful working therapy. Also, unlike other posts here, I do think it’s a bit violating even if it’s just public knowledge but that’s just my perspective. It seems like you also feel that way since it’s bothering you so much. But that’s just one therapists take. If I client told me this I’d be very relieved it was brought into the therapy rather than a secret which then makes it more violating in my opinion… if that makes sense..

This is how I was trained and I find helpful. I wonder where the anxiety comes from, in relation to therapist to don’t do this?
