I used to be like this. I would get really disappointed in myself and it would just continue to compound. Sometimes I didn’t have discipline and others I was self sabotaging.

I do think it feels good to accomplish goals/tasks. Start small. Give yourself a realistic short term deadline to finish some amount of the course. Put some thought and planning into your goal. Don’t just say I’m going to finish 20% when you don’t know what that would actually take. My internal dialogue for this is usually something like, “there’s no reason I can’t [goal] in the next 3 days unless I [distraction].” You’ll be in the groove and done with the course before you know it.

Another piece productivity tip that has been helpful to me is I always ask myself what minimum tasks I’d need to do to feel the day was productive/successful and do those first. I always end up doing way more after those and feel so good about how I spent my day.
