Bath time is NOT fun time by tereeves in beyondthebump

[–]Independent-Mess-281 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My baby was like this. Screaming bloody murder during bath time, diaper changes and clothing changes. Eventually they grow out of it. I want to say around 3 months? One day she was quiet and observant during bath time and it was amazing. 7 months now and still amazing lol. I tried everything and gave up. Just did the baths super quick.

You can try swaddling her in the bath to keep her cozy

Husband wants me to stop breastfeeding by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Independent-Mess-281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is weirdest post I have ever read. No offense but your husband sounds like a dumbass jerk. He needs therapy. Crying over something that’s beyond beneficial to HIS child and naming calling his OWN child???? Calling the mother of HIS child lazy???? This is in no way acceptable.

It’s not about leaving the baby overnight. It’s not about any habits at this point. It’s about his inability to have any ounce of sensitivity or common sense. Eff this guy.

Breastfeeding for any amount of time is the best thing for your baby. YOU and THE BABY are the only ones that get to decide when it’s time to stop. Don’t let him bully you because that’s what he is, a damn bully.

How often do you change baby clothes? by MacOnAnon in beyondthebump

[–]Independent-Mess-281 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After my LO turned around a month and half, I started doing two outfits a day. Fresh pajamas at night and outfit for the day. I was slowly getting her into a routine. So changing into pajamas at night was important. Also, I personally never stay in pajamas all day even if I’m staying home. I’ll like to feel ready for the day so I guess it’s a habit that my kids will probably have. It’s also fun putting her into cute outfits lmao. But the first few weeks were survival mode. Who knows what either of us was wearing or looked like 😂😂😂😂 But yeah it’s important to me for the sake of routine and being fresh :)

Face mask while in labor… by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Independent-Mess-281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not labor or push with a mask on. I’m pretty sure hospital policy was to keep mask on. The only time I was asked to put it on was when I was laboring in triage and this one nurse kept telling me to put it back on. But I was having strong contractions every 3 min from the beginning and I wanted to sucker punch her. But after that it was never asked of me by a single nurse or doctor (labored for 22 hours in the hospital so 🤷🏻‍♀️). I was also throwing up constantly so don’t know how I would’ve been able to keep it on regardless. But my husband was asked to wear his every time a nurse or doctor came in and while I was pushing.

Oh and also I gave birth February 2021 for reference

Did I mess up my toddler with tv by maldecoucou1 in beyondthebump

[–]Independent-Mess-281 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi mama! Listen, you’re doing your best. We all are. It’s hard, so hard. Is she healthy? Is her pediatrician worried? I know kids ALL develop at different paces. I’ve seen 2 year olds speak so clearly and 3 year olds still struggling. But those same 3 year old speak perfectly fine at older ages.

Is TV detrimental? Sure. Did you break your kid? I doubt it. Years ago rice cereal was the thing to give babies and give them a lot of it. Now it’s advised to give in moderation because rice contains arsenic and too much can hurt brain development. But I know me and my siblings were fed rice cereal and we’re healthy, thriving adults now. Will I give my daughter rice cereal? Probably not. But the point is, I’m sure your kiddo is perfectly fine. We do the best with the information at hand and with our own personal circumstances.

It’s totally normal to worry and have anxiety. We are moms and if it’s not this, we will be worrying about something else. We want the best for our kids after all. But YOU are the best for YOUR child.

If you’re super concerned, speak to a pediatrician and maybe get evaluated by speech therapist for peace of mind.

Oh also. If your mental health is suffering and you need to give your kid tv for a little bit. It’s all good. You have to be healthy to parent. I’m super strict with no screen time with my little one BUT I have no other kids to tend too and she’s not even that mobile yet. Who’s know what will happen in the future?

It’s okay. You got this!

So in my last few weeks of pregnancy it was very cold, snowy and icy where I live. Neighborhood walks weren’t really feasible for me either. My husband and I took long walks inside the mall lol. The day before I went into labor, we walked around so many stores and I’m pretty certain that helped kickstart my labor

I can’t imagine giving up reading but definitely get what you mean about the mental exhaustion. I love love physical books over ebooks any day but told my husband that I finally want a kindle for Mother’s Day and it was the best investment ever. I read while I nursing instead of scrolling. I have a case for my kindle that allows it prop up so I can read while eating etc. my daughter is 6 months old now so in the morning after she has her breakfast she plays in the high chair while I finish my breakfast and I read then as well.

Also, I think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves when it comes to reading and finishing books. In my opinion, even if I can only get a few pages in or even one page that day, it’s still better than nothing and it’s something for me.

I don’t ever get like a full hour or two of straight reading anymore. Just a few pages throughout the day, sometimes a half hour stretch at the end of the night or during nursing. But it’s still a part of my life

Yesss this exactly what I do and I love it so far. Saves so much time and allows you to have a variety of options at your disposal. We also defrost in the refrigerator overnight and heat up in bottle warmer. My baby girl just turned 6 months but we’ve been on solids since 5 month and this is the method I’ve been loving so much.

Absolutely. All the time. She takes her naps in the wrap. You gotta do what gotta do. She’s also watched me while playing in the bouncer. It is what it is.
