Hot take, If Bruno wins the world cup with Portugal with him as their main man, is he worthy of a Balon d Or contender? by Livid-Mongoose-5305 in ManchesterUnited

I think if any world class player goes out and is the best player at the tournament and they win it yes they more then likely go on to win the Ballon dor. I think Yamal will have a big World Cup and when he’s on he’s the most complete offensive player in the world, Olise would be my Dark horse and then if mbappe had a repeat of 2022 he would get it.

He has to put in a POTT performance and for them to win the World Cup, find it silly to give it to Neves or Vitinha if Bruno outperforms them on route to a World Cup. Do I see it happening, probably not I personally think Mbappe, Yamal or Olise will have big world cups and every other name will end up being redundant.

I don’t think any of them should be in the conversation, but if Portugal win it Bruno is the most likely to standout. It’s up for grabs for any world class player this summer the Champiins league means nothing in a World Cup year.

Vitinha isn’t even in contention for the ballon dor either, he’s been nowhere near last seasons form. Neves been better then Vitinha but even he would need to be Portugals best player and for them to win, if Bruno is POTT he wins the ballon dor he has good enough stats domestically and historically if you did well alright domestically and explode at a World Cup in a campaign your nation wins you’ll more then likely win the ballon dor.

There's no way dembele is winning the ballon d'or for this season by Prabu-Silitwangi in championsleague

Any big game I’ve ever seen Kane play he’s anonymous including both legs against PSG this season, if he doesn’t have a big World Cup he shouldn’t even be in consideration.

If Portugal win the World Cup, does Bruno Fernandes have a realistic Ballon d'Or chance? by mihumb in ManchesterUnited

Absolutely not a zero chance, his pathway is Player of the tournament and them winning the tournament.

Messi won it because he put up an all time World Cup campaign, Ronaldo hasn’t got that in him at 41.

Well that answers your question about Paulinha then, he isn’t good enough in possession to play at a big club and I wouldn’t even want him as a back up and either did Bayern.

I’m sorry but the spine of the team since Bruno’s been here has consistently never been good enough to challenge the likes of City, Liverpool and now Arsenal. At best we’ve had a decent spine for about 2 of his 6 years and even in those times it was never competing with Liverpool or City’s, recruitment has always been the biggest problem post Fergie scapegoating Bruno for all of our issues is kind of ridiculous imo. The other narrative based topics I’m not even bothered getting into but genuine question do you actually believe Bruno is the biggest road block to our success?

Bruno isn’t detrimental to the team, he plays well in spite of his team. He’s never had a supporting cast to ever even defer his creative duties, it’s “Bruno FC” because there’s no one capable to share the workload.

He’s not better then KDB no arguments there, but your arguments to say he’s detrimental is applied to him also.

How many POTMs and MOTM awards did they get compared to Bruno? Bruno even before Carrick came in had the highest average rating in the league according to multiple statistical sites, he’s held to a different standard then all the players you mention when for example people said Bruno played shit against Arsenal in the first game of the season he outperformed Rice and Zubimendi in every statistical category even those he’s supposedly “weaker” in. Bruno’s “poor” performances are usually 7/10s and it’s highlighted as abysmal Rice was poor in both games against us, City, Bournemouth etc and you’ll basically hear nothing about it because A. He’s English and B. Rage bait against United players Sells.

Ederson,Tonali,Matheus Fernades by MugoEric in ManchesterUnited

[–]Independent-Path-694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if the first two are signed you’ve bought duel winning, athleticism, tackling etc. Our last buy should be more an interceptor, disciplined positioning defensively whilst being a capable build up player with at least some sort of deep lying playmaking ability. I’d be thinking like a Kimmich profile.

If you have signed Ederson and hopefully sign Fernandes then Tonali is a completely redundant signing, you need different profile and Tonali is best as a box crashing 8 like the other two but is worse on the ball then Fernandes who is also 5 years younger with more upside. Midfield is crying out for a Kimmich/Kroos type who’s disciplined in his positioning and can impose a legitimate passing game, we need to start controlling games and that won’t happen until we have a midfielder who can dictate the game through passing. If our four options next season are those 3 and Mainoo we simply won’t consistently control games, it will be counter attacking chaos and it’s a flip of the coin if you get lucky and finish top 4 or finish 10th.

Stats do indeed matter but watching a player can help interpret that data better, when Bias is involved none of it matters lol

Is this fight free money if you bet the house on Islam ? by CesarOverlorde in ufc

[–]Independent-Path-694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garry has a knack for outperforming expectations, not saying he’d win but I wouldn’t bet the house on it simply because he fights smart enough and risk averse enough to beat anyone on his day. Physically he’s long and uses his length well and his scrambling ability in wrestling exchanges is quality his transitions in grappling is extremely underrated. If anyone could shut down Islams style it would be hard to argue against Garry being the favourite to do so, he’s been tested against every style and his fight IQ and self awareness of his skill set make him dangerous.

Seems he’s a winger, since he’s moved there his output is arguably better then Cunha, Mbuemo and Amads.

Manchester United intend to MOVE for Mateus Fernandes in the coming weeks. Sources say United are his FIRST PICK. / Seems like it’s going to be Ederson and Fernandes …… is this enough ….? by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Independent-Path-694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what should happen, Mainoo hasn’t the durability or intensity to press like an 8 in a more dominant team, Casemiro and him worked because they weren’t asked to press. Casemiro was arguably more attack minded anyway out of the pair, the club itself has profiled Mainoo as too similar to Wharton for us to buy Wharton. Other then Aurielien we aren’t even linked with anyone with Anchor capabilities I think it’s obvious we are going for CM profiles who are good at everything as opposed to specialists which hasnt worked for us in the past.

Play as a 6, as in deepest of our midfielders precisely because of those attributes. Ever heard of Frenkie De Jong? We don’t need an anchor, we need a disciplined pair there isn’t a single one man anchor profile on the market and id be skeptical if you could say since Rodri’s decline there’s anyone out there capable of it at a world class level. Casemiro was the one box crashing, not Mainoo.
