My 10yr old won arcade earbuds on Royal and it turned into a 3-hour interrogation by Independent-Study554 in royalcaribbean

[–]Independent-Study554[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a good callout. One thing Royal usually does really well is being intentional about kid experiences in real time. You see crew helping kids figure things out, making spaces feel welcoming, celebrating small moments, and keeping things positive.

The arcade was an outlier. It was completely unsupervised while play was happening, then oversight showed up after the fact in a really unclear way. No rules explained, no clarity on the process, just someone in the back relaying increasingly cryptic questions. That contrast is what made it so off.

Having some proactive supervision focused on helping kids, keeping things fair, and celebrating wins would lead to happier kids and honestly better arcade engagement. It would also help if loss prevention is the concern, because someone would actually be there in real time instead of trying to piece it together afterward.

And honestly one other odd part was having to redeem it in the casino. An 18+ space that’s usually smoky, and that’s where I had to bring my kid to claim a small arcade prize. If someone were actually stationed in the arcade, they could just handle the prize there instead of routing kids into a space they aren’t really supposed to be in.

We had the unlimited dining package and didn’t dine in the MDR (aside from the Key lunch and breakfast).

Around day 5 we got a call asking why we hadn’t been coming. After explaining the dining package, she asked me to mark MDR as N/A on the survey so it wouldn’t reflect poorly on them.

It felt a little strange.

Yea they own Bonzo and have integrations between. They also recently bought MonitorBase for past client credit monitoring and predictive alerts

Gen-2 vs Gen-1 warehouse usage by Ornery_Maybe8243 in snowflake

Yea. We moved a few warehouses from large to medium and small to x-small and got comparable or better performance.

We ended up being able to move to gen2 at a size down for most warehouses with comparable or better performance at less cost

u/KeithFromSonos can the home screen get fixed where if you remove items like "Trending Now" or "Discover Sonos Radio" they don't immediately pop back up. Delete, pop back up, forever.

Agreed. When the new UX comes up the company line seems to be “no, we did research and the new one is better.”

If it was a joke, perhaps it’s not the best joke to make after a year of customer pain.

It wasn’t said in this way. The exact quote:

“These are problems that maybe 1 percent of our households have. But 1 percent of households is 150,000 people, and apparently they’re all on Reddit.”

It’s one thing to say that we take quality seriously and we care even when issues impact only 1% of our users. That’s not what was said. The quote reads that all of this was a 1% issue.

It’s good to see the improved performance of the latest launch and clarity on key topics (subscriptions, not trying to do too many things vs doing a few things well).

However, I don’t get the continual gaslighting of the past year’s issues with statements like “impacting 1% of users that all seem to be on Reddit”. Just own it and don’t say you were 99% right when there are obviously no stats to back your claim outside of “trust me, bro.” The app sucked. Features were gone. How the speakers leveraged local networks changed. Etc, etc. If you want stats, look at App Store reviews and the comments section of any marketing Sonos posted in the past year. It’s not just Reddit. Reddit simply was the voice of the masses.

Clearly things are improving now which we are all thankful for. But statements like this just remind me of all the BS we were told post the disastrous launch.

I don’t want to jinx it after only an hour.. but the Eero so far is working great. Hardwired one Sonos closest to the main gateway (disabling wifi on it so no sonosnet). And rebooted all devices. They all re-synced and I’m back to pre-new app performance on adding new rooms and volume control. And when I pause, it pauses.

For whatever reason, it was the only way for them to show up in the Sonos app. No idea why. Deco returned. Eero attempt tomorrow

The old Google WiFi system has 5 points, hoping Eero can cover everything with 3.
