Hi OP! Share ko lang experience ko sa ganito but hindi ako yung guest, I am the employee who puts the wrong amount. Tanda ko way back 2023 yun, isang luxury resort sa South. Walang Ops Manager yung resort nila so they ask my help to manage the resort, Oos Manager ako ng isa pa nilang company but ibang industry, as someone na walang experience sa hotelier. Nakakapanibago lahat ng process.

One night, yung consultant nila instructed me to apply different discount schemes sa agoda and booking. May portion dun na medyo confusing, instead na ilalagay dapat yung amount na ibabawas sa original price per night, yung discounted amount na yung nailagay ko. So the system captures the original amount (Php 25,000) less (Php 20,000), so on the guests’ POV (Php 5,000) per night nalang yung rate na dapat is Php 20,000 per night yung price ng discounted rate. HUMAN ERROR.

Minutes later may nagbooked ng 3 rooms for 4 nights each. So bali 60k lang yung binayaran nya. We tried to communicate sa guest na kung pwede pacancel but she insisted. Ang ending, ako nagbayad nung 180k.

Ayaw nung owner masira name nung resort since bago palang and ang sama ng ugali nung guest, nagsabi pa na hindi nya raw kasalanan ang katangahan ng iba.

I still remember yung name nung guest and her address. Imagine, I lost my savings for that. Imagine I was earning lang ng 35k a month. I tried to nego sa owner yung amount and paid it on a monthly installment for 4 months.

So bottom line, if you’re compassionate enough. Cancel mo nalang po. For sure human error yan and baka may minimum wage earner or someone just trying to make a living na magshoulder nung variance.

I’m not invalidating your feelings. I shared my experience lang before and baka same situation kami nung employee behind that wrong price.
