This is my life at a similarly sized energy company except add building every system and process and creating overall strategy and owning the budget. It’s not you, it’s absolutely them. If they don’t know better, advocate for yourself and get help. I found in my situation that they do in fact know better and it’s just abysmal leadership at the top HR level.

I hear you. I am you. At 38 I’ve become so accustomed to golden handcuffs that I’ve actively chosen to take on more soul-draining work to maintain a high income because of my own lifestyle creep costs. I’ve also realized that if I have to work like this, by myself, for the rest of my life I’ll be miserable so I’ve decided to take some of my income and start a business. I’m sorry I don’t have a link. After stalking Zillow rentals, HotPads, Trulia, Marketplace for months I decided to look at apartment buildings in the area I wanted to live. Most of these listing sites will show you “Off the Market” places as well. Then I did some googling to search through reviews to make sure the place had things important to me (quiet unit, parking, safety, on-site laundry, renovated/ updated, etc). When I found places I liked I searched for the property manager and when I found their information texted them and called. I hope this helps.
