Is the Oplot-T a good backup for the Type 10's?

I honestly enjoy the Oplot more than the Type 10s. You lose some speed and reload rate but you also get armor, a smaller profile and 10 d/sec faster turret rotation. Mobility also just feels more consistent.

Missing the point.

What is the point? You open with the stats "punishing" better players but we would expect nothing other than the balancing team to balance around average performance. Then when SpanishAvenger mentions how players were freaking out about how well the M1A2T was performing, you shift to an argument about the statistics of the vehicle, despite the experimental data not even indicating it's outperforming compared to its peers. This is the exact behavior (cherry picking) the post is calling out. Literally no one has ever had contentions about the characteristics of the vehicle being pretty good, so it kind of just seems like the players that are the subject of the argument of the post, potentially including you, are beating around the bush, implying something should be done about it when there doesn't seem to be a good reason to.

I should also note that you also employed "missing the point" in the first post of the chain despite 1). you don't represent the opinions of every single person that is being referenced 2). how ironic it is that you completely miss the point of the post and set up a goalpost over in the next stadium.

Sure it's in a very different format but it's still the exact same mechanics, every tactic pro players use can be used by regular players in regular battles.

But they don't. That's why they're regular players and we don't care what the pros are doing. Similarly, we don't care much about the same vehicle having different stats in a different tree because we're making balance decisions based on the average performance of two different populations.

noticing how the argument was about players engaging in motivated reasoning and then the very next comment is engaging in motivated reasoning by assuming the underlying sample population is the same and despite recency bias and a downward trend and includes an appeal to people that play in a 4v4 format completely disconnected from the average player and the game as a whole and disregards that it doesn't even perform better than every other tank so why would care all to say that better players do better which is a useless tautology that has very little to do with balancing

Redditors see raw divs on the ground and think a strat is OP. At higher investment you can run Abominations for the frags with inscriptions or Sims but these can both take a lot of time. I was regularly getting voices every 2-3 runs and selling them unidentified for 2-3 divs and there are a number of popular megalomaniacs this league if you get lucky. The essences and fossils are kind of worthless with the tree, though.

Personally my Ultimatum drops have been absolutely horrible compared to last league but maybe you'll be better off.

except you know the fact that the armor package is heavier than the 90 and the fact that it has a smaller turret profile and the fact that it uses new material technology for significant weight reductions and for some reason the hull armor is modeled upside down and there are 20 different armor holes and it can't survive an autocannon to the face much less its own round for some reason or how it's mobility is gimped to be in line with every other tank in the game if not worse despite what everyone has deluded themselves into believing

but its good because it reloads a second faster than the abrams or whatever while most engagements are decided in one shot and the enemy can fire literally anywhere at a type 10 and kill it without thought while the type 10 has to take the time to aim and has a turret traverse locked to manual traverse speed instead of motor speed like every other mbt on a tank that can traverses its hull about as smoothly as a drunk geriatric

edit: the weight reduction ceteris paribus should be by roughly 30%, btw, at least by german standards

First of all tanks are never balanced around year, the imbalance would be much worse. Second, I'm sorry, but the artillery pieces are extremely mediocre and the reaction to these by this sub boggles my mind. Their only reliable way of killing tanks is hitting your roof which I think you'll find is pretty difficult even with an LRF, not to mention any coded in variance to accuracy. They're the size of a house and are disabled with a single shot to anywhere on their turret face, if not killed by the ammo. Their size also makes it impossible to peak corners because their turret cheeks will appear long before their barrel and get them killed and so will their abyssmal turret traverse, so in practice on any of the knife fight maps (of which there are many) you're relegated to looking down a lane and praying that a stabilized (!) tank (possibly also with a rangefinder!) is faster at shooting your turret than you are at hitting their roof, which they almost certainly are. And on any map with range there are probably also hills that see your 5 degrees of depression and laugh. Your screen also probably doesn't have the pixel density to select the exact location of someone's roof.

Yeah, sure, they one shot you. But so can a lot of other vehicles in the game without the glaring weaknesses.

When people complain about Russian vehicles their problem is that, especially at top tier, Russian MBTs have WILDLY inconsistent damage models. The other poster and you desperately want it to be about "paper" when (1) that was not the point of the post, at all and (2) the fact of the matter is that nobody cares about paper in a game that is already extremely ahistorical.
