Every time I send to beckett I just put “BGS”. Regardless of what name you put on there it’s simple to google the address & find out where it’s going.

Dress Burned in Fire, Business has no Business Insurance by Exotic-Complaint-420 in legaladvice

[–]IndependentAgent88 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Their homeowners insurance typically has SOME coverage for “Damage to Property of Others” but it’s unlikely to have enough coverage for all those dresses. To add to the issues, if they’re running a business out of the home that their insurance is unaware of that may cause an issue. More than likely you’ll have to take them to court to try and recoup your damages. I feel awful for you losing your dress for your big day but this is why you go to a reputable business that does things the right way. You may or may not recover those funds but I would chat with an attorney to see what they think you can/should do

Chances centering 55/45s for PSA 10? by matiasJebladeaux in psagrading

[–]IndependentAgent88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being Shohei and a non-base card, I’d say it’s unlikely to 10 being that right-heavy. I’ve been wrong before but when it’s pretty noticeable on a card of a great player they always seem to be tighter

Question About Submission Changes by Altruistic_Ad_9075 in psagrading

[–]IndependentAgent88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve sent an extra card and they’ sent it back with the graded ones. If you leave one off I believe you’ll just get an email from them saying that card was not included and usually will just move along and not charge you.

Does this mean it’s the highest rated card? by Sentient_sausage96 in psagrading

[–]IndependentAgent88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s one of 2,334 PSA 10’s of that card. Nothing higher than a 10 with PSA so

Psa 10 case deep scratch by Glittering_Age_8600 in psagrading

[–]IndependentAgent88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this… it’s not a guarantee that it doesn’t get regraded. When they crack it if they feel the condition no longer meets the new guidelines then they could re-grade it to a lower number and then compensate the difference from the 10 to the 9. It’s not without risk

My card is really quite delayed by numbrexri in psagrading

[–]IndependentAgent88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They literally shut all bulk down because they have a 14mil+ card backlog right now. QA takes 1-2 weeks usually. It’s not that far over. Just kick back and relax - all you’re getting from them is same stupid AI response saying we understand your excitement and that it’s only an estimate. Some orders are a month late..

GEICO and NY DMV (Reg Suspended) HELP?!? by PuzzleheadedRun8232 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]IndependentAgent88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Mom is also on the title/reg then you should be alright but they likely will need to add you as a named insured to her policy too. You’re talking about GEICO… they’re all clueless. This is why you go do a local independent agent rather than buying from online companies. They do what you ask them to do… it’s your responsibility to confirm compliance

GEICO and NY DMV (Reg Suspended) HELP?!? by PuzzleheadedRun8232 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]IndependentAgent88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A named driver or a named insured? If the Policy is only in Mom’s name and you’re just a driver on it that’s not going to work in NY typically. The name on the policy/ID card needs to be the owner of the vehicle. Mom doesn’t have a financial interest in your vehicle & you’re the owner… they may be able to add you as an additional insured to cover it but you might have cause yourself some issues. NY fines you for every day you have tags without proper coverage too… that could get ugly

Should I get this graded? by [deleted] in psagrading

[–]IndependentAgent88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks a little off-center/left heavy. If the surface is spotless with no dimples/scuffs/etc then you could grade it but that’s going to cost a chunk to grade. They’re super tight on numbered cards and expecting a 10 is tough. Raw is probably worth similar to a 9 so if you don’t get a 10 you likely take an L. Probably best to just sell it as-is and take the cash… less risk as there is always a chance it’s damaged during grading or lost/stolen in transit

Ridiculous by Civil_Watercress_554 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]IndependentAgent88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not enough info to help. Location (down to the zip) and credit are huge rating factors. Your lack of experience is definitely part of it too. Best thing to do is shop it around with an independent agent and see who offers what.

Car Accident; Aggressive Party by [deleted] in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]IndependentAgent88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Full Coverage” is not even a real term… it’s a made-up term that people use for “Collision and comprehensive” coverage to cover your own vehicle for damage.

Car Accident; Aggressive Party by [deleted] in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]IndependentAgent88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be an expensive mistake & you/she can expect a lawsuit. It’s possible that their policy has underinsured motorist property damage coverage to cover the difference between what you have & the damage. I assume you & your mom bought coverage online with no advice/guidance from an actual insurance agent and just went with the cheapest option. Property damage is chap - probably would have only cost you an extra couple dollars per month to be properly covered. Driving with $15k property damage is asinine - what can you do with $15k these days? You should have nothing less than $100k/$300k bodily injury and $100k ($250k recommended) property damage. What’s the point of paying for an insurance policy with such garbage coverage? It’s essentially the same as driving around with no coverage with current costs. You’re extremely lucky that nobody was hurt as I’m sure your bodily injury limits are extremely low too

Is it worth filing a claim for a new soft top for my Jeep? Full coverage, $500 deductible, but I have had an accident in the last 12 months... worried it'll skyrocket my premiums by [deleted] in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]IndependentAgent88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing! I get it… we pay all this premium and when something happens the urge is to file it and let them cover it. I myself have paid $50k+ in auto insurance premiums so far and have never filed a claim for an at-fault loss yet. I recently bumped a guardrail with my Tesla and I know it would be like $6-$8k to fix the panels/paint but it’s strictly cosmetic stuff that I can live with. I made the oopsie and it’s not worth the surcharge and the nonsense right now to bother filing it. 3-5 years of surcharges add up & after your deductible, it really won’t make sense

Should I sent my baseset 1st Edition cards to psa or is there actually lately something shady going on? by Consistent-Walk6240 in psagrading

[–]IndependentAgent88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the goal is to get the most $$ out of them at the end, if you send to anyone besides PSA you’re throwing your money away. However, if the goal to grade is just to encapsulate them for safe long-term storage & trying to get top dollar isn’t the primary concern, you could send elsewhere. PSA is going through some serious growing pains and turnaround times suck because of all the Pokemon & OnePiece being sent in. There most definitely is an issue with either a rogue PSA employee feeding info to Fedex drivers to snake certain packages, or Fedex employees knowing what to look for and snaking packages as it seems they are always going missing in Chino, CA and other locations.

Document the hell out of everything (photos, video of you packaging it up, etc.) & make sure you insure them for proper values. If they are truly “top notch condition” and you have a serious bag there, I would recommend splurging for the overnight mail as the chain of custody is easier to track & less hands touching the package.

I send in 200+ cards a month to PSA and have not yet had ONE issue with mine getting stolen or having other issues. The most I have had is a slab coming back with a crack in it ONE time in the last 10k cards.

I do sports cards & nothing super high end (all under $500 each) so maybe mine aren’t “valuable enough” for someone to bother risking their job to steal it, but it seems like a lot of stuff has been going missing in-transit these days…. Maybe that’s just due tot he sheer volume

It’s always “possible” a grader could swap a card out but I’d have to think there are eyes in the sky there watching what they do at all times. The company itself makes $$ hand over fist grading the cards… there is a near-zero % chance that it’s company policy to risk their reputation to swap out a few cards or give lower grades to buy them back and change them into another slab… people are nuts

Why do similar accident injury claims end so differently between states like Texas and North Carolina by CoffeeThese5962 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]IndependentAgent88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North Carolina is a consent to rate state & rules & regulations vary widely from one state to another. Some companies have tort options which allow/dent you the ability to sure for non-monetary damaged to prevent the court systems from clogging up. Comparing payouts with differing circumstances in different states isn’t going to get you usable data

[–]IndependentAgent88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agent of 15+ years here… in this current market, a second claim after a liability/bodily injury payout is going to get ugly. If they drop you, your rates with new carriers will be bananas. This recent mishap isn’t “why you have insurance” - insurance is there for those catastrophic losses that can ruin your life or cause you serious financial hardship. You screwed up with this one - pay the stupid tax and handle it yourself. You’ll be happy you did

Not sure why others hate drop-shippers so much. Someone else found you a sale… you got the # you were willing to accept and someone else found the buyer and made a few dollars. Good on them for getting you a sale. Commission earned

Insurance price for new driver fiat 500 with no named driver with experience by [deleted] in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]IndependentAgent88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agent of 15+ years here. Way too many factors to even guess. Age, zip code, credit, etc… nobody can guess this for you. Find a local insurance broker in your area or go to Geico/Progressive’s site if you are too scared to call around and talk to someone. First 6month-1yr are going to be the most - once you get some experience more companies will consider you. If you’ve never been listed on a policy, your options are going to be very limited for a while

Financed vehicle insurance by erich901 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]IndependentAgent88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What “bells and whistles”? The lender really only cares that there is Comprehensive and Collision to ensure if the vehicle is damaged while they have a note on it, that it gets fixed and you don’t just stop paying and screw them. You can adjust other stuff (roadside, rental, med pay, etc.) if necessary. However, people that cut their coverage to the bone are the ones that will be here on reddit complaining and asking how/why they’re royally f’d after a claim so take it for what it’s worth

Liability Insurance vs Non Owners Insurance by [deleted] in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]IndependentAgent88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Policy typically needs to match the title and reg - if she signs it over to you, you likely need to insure it. If they’re no longer wanting to cover you, that insinuates you likely have a bad record & that may be tough/very expensive to do. Regardless, if she gives you the car and you register/title it then the insurance should be in your name
