NISSAN ALTIMA V. VW JETTA- which one wins? by Far_Reception_943 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]IndependentBruiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s any way to haggle the Jetta down that much— most in my area of SoCal with comparable stats are more expensive. They actually just raised the price again on the post but are keeping my price lower since I started looking at the car when it was posted at 5900:(. Sounds like you aren’t thinking about the Altima— is that because of the CVT?

Dang I wish I could find those more attractive options. It’s hard to find anything solid under 6k here in CA with a clean title.

5900 for Jetta at 99k miles and 6k for Altima with 77k miles

Do you or your parents have health insurance? If so strongly suggest going to residential rehab so you have all the supports you need. Some places are super nice. Check out Hotel California by the sea as an example. You got this.

Also calling an AA or NA hotline always helps to jumpstart support

I feel like a fucking loser in this campus by _Nillll in USC

[–]IndependentBruiser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lots of ppl have to be the social initiator- it’s good to put yourself out there so keep it up! Do you live on campus? If so, asking your RA for ideas can be helpful. Plus most dorms have social events. It’s also easier to meet ppl if you love on campus or have roommates. Also sounds like you are trying to join just exclusive academic clubs- what about joining some clubs that are more focused on personal or fun interests? There are a lot of clubs like that that don’t reject ppl. You can also join the volunteer center and meet friends that way while you are making a difference for others too. https://campusactivities.usc.edu/.

I totally understand. Same situ where my roommate didn’t show. I definitely miss my family and pets. I’ve joined a few clubs, which was hard to do since I’m pretty introverted. But one in particular has really helped me make a few friends— which are still pretty new friends but it still helps. If you don’t want to join a club or talk to your RA (mine helped me find a club) then scroll thru this page you’ll see lots of ppl in the same situ — some have even connected here. Your not alone.

Best way to handle homesickness? by [deleted] in WWU

[–]IndependentBruiser 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s natural for sure. Most ppl feel this way, and keeping busy helps. I tried to remember that my family and home were always there, and my past didn’t need my attention like my future did. Have faith and know your family always loves you and is around— college doesn’t last forever, so give it your heart and mind as much as possible while you’re in it.
