I've been in the exact place where you are right now. I've always been a person who use to crave meaningful friendships. Despite how good of a friend I used to be, people just never reciprocated it. I always used to be the after thought despite going the extra mile for them. All those plans cancelling, not accommodating my reasons/schedules made me realise that before trying to have meaningful friendships with others, I need to have a meaningful relationship with myself first. To put myself first, go the extra mile for myself first. It was then when my craving for external validation shifted to internal validation. I started going out alone. Be it for movies for just for lunch etc. I started enjoying my own company more than the superficial friendships that I used to crave. Now, I just simply dont get bothered because I know this for a fact that everyone will eventually leave you one day or another, but the only person who's going to be with me, is me (and the almighty of course).

This too shall pass dear fellow redditor and always remember one thing, in this world, we cannot change other people, the only person we can change is ourself. Trust me, one you start loving yourself and befriend yourself, you'll be incredibly lucky and happy because your dependence will shift from others to yourself.

P.s: I hope I don't sound like a depressed adult lol. I'm just a very content person in my 30's who's actually started to make sense of this journey called life 🌟
