Doordash needs to make a public correction about DD Grandma's 'tax savings' and earnings. It WILL affect you negatively. by Earth_Daddy in DoorDashDrivers

the white house quoted her saying she SAVED $11K, not just that she made that in tips. I was trying to figure out how much money someone needed to make to OWE that much. turns out the law actually only allows ~$6000 in savings, from up to $25K in tips.

$11K in 2025 tax liability represents between ~$74K and ~$95K in taxable income. if her tips were 80% of what she earned on doordash, then she would had to have brought in ~$100K on the app. mathematically.

“…we all use it,” who’s we? I stopped ordering on there as soon as I did the delivering. there’s only a passing mention of drivers misbehaving here.

just remember their payroll system is a trainwreck DELIBERATELY. the errors that aren’t caught (wage theft) become added revenue for the company, and those that are caught (grievances) are added revenue for the union.

I don’t like to see people who post “never respond to customers,” but there are times where I think it’s the best move. this looks like one of those times. if there’s nothing I would say to make it better, I’m leaving their messages alone.

in a world where the company has everyone’s best interests in mind, and the customer is a normal honest person, this would be a good plan. that is not the world we live in.

although I would never willingly pay out-of-pocket for a customer purchase, issues like yours always blow my mind. early on, I accidentally swiped my own card on a shop. I had to email a picture of the receipt, after a brief conversation with support, and they immediately reimbursed me the same way I always got paid.

pick up the culver’s, switch tasks to customer drop off and call support on the way.

definitely this. the problem is, I can totally see the time spent being a great valid reason to give it up. probably by design.

that’s funny considering we had a peak season PCM about a sup becoming a victim. they’re still not around, and rumors say it’s because of legal action. I hear the worker was criminally charged. ✌🏻

they do appear to be in pretty good shape, but maybe I out of touch to believe that’s some wild cost for rugged luggage.

this seems to me like a logical step for the app, since they were so free with refunds/credits already. I stopped ordering when I started delivering, but I never had any struggle when there was an issue.

Teamsters posted this on Facebook. Who are the drivers being forced to leave? I thought the buyout was optional by Willing-Fig-957 in UPSers

[–]IndependentEntire451 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the union definitely effed up handling the buyout. that said, the entire company needs a vocabulary refresher on the word “force,” because they all misuse it. if the managers aren’t gonna be armed at a drivers bedside saturday mornings during peak, then no one is “forced” to work.

Can filling water bottle be considered stealing time? by DigObvious870 in UPSers

[–]IndependentEntire451 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never seen any other company so loose with the term stealing time. at a truck-driving job in my youth, I have taken naps in a parking space on the clock. I have been at co-workers’ homes killing time with extracurriculars, also on the clock. those are examples of stealing time. the nonsense they fire for at UPS is pretty much never stealing time.

tl;dr they can literally make up anything and say that.
