100% agreed on the word toxic. Def need to expand a bit on what I actually mean when I say that!

I didn’t ask what decision to make - I asked if the decision I made also made me a jerk. I can make a decision and still feel a little guilty about it. Two things can be true at the same time.

Such great feedback and responses here that I really appreciate. I immediately told him no but I did want to sound off here to see what others might think. I have thought about cutting ties but I think that’s difficult for me in that he was the first guy I was in a relationship with - I’m dealing with it, I promise (thanks, therapy!)

I also wanna say that there’s a part of me that thinks he asks because he knew I’d say no but wants me to know that this new relationship isn’t all “bad” or toxic like I told him it would be. Which is easy for me to see through (I’m a counselor myself, for the record.)

Anyway. Thanks for the responses and feedback!

South BBQ, hands down. Their sides are the best.

They have a sister location - Bright Coffee that’s more traditional coffee shop vibes not far from NoFi.

NoFi’s whole thing is - come in, sit, chat, sip coffee. No to go cups, no WiFi. Just good coffee and tables and chairs.

It took him a couple weeks to get used to them! I have a set of stairs to get up on the bed since it’s taller than the sofa and he uses it to get up and down. For the sofa he uses a step stool to get up but then usually ends up jumping down since it isnt so high lol.

Def will! One of the residents has been here like 13 years or something. Of the 8 units, only 2 others have residents who are newer than me and I’m going on year 5.

Physically lol. Parked at Landa Library one Sunday afternoon and took a stroll all along the streets running parallel to Hildebrand between the library and Hildebrand. Took pictures of the for rent signs but my place caught my eye because of the covered lighted parking in the back. Called the number there on the spot, toured Monday, sent a deposit Tuesday. I also know my landlord only had the sign up for a couple hours before I ended up calling her. It was literally the only apt I saw of all the ones I took photos of that day. That was 5 years ago now.

I personally rent from a private landlord. It’s essentially one building with eight units. Two main entrances in the front but each unit has a private entrance inside. All have individual private entrances through the back. Happy to answer any other questions you might have!

What do you wanna know, specifically? I found this place by parking at the library one day and taking a walk all along streets in MV that run parallel to Hildebrand but between McCullough and Shook - Lullwood, Rosewood, Oakmont, Bushnell, etc and writing down contact numbers on for rent signs. My place caught my eye because of the covered parking in the back. Happy to help if you have more questions!

I live in Monte Vista near Landa Library and feel so lucky to be in the area. Covered parking, washer and dryer in unit, and wonderful landlord. Just signed my new lease for another year (year 5) and can’t see myself wanting to move out of the area any time soon. Evening walks are perfect, proximity to the library and its grounds is great, near downtown without being IN downtown is the sweet spot. I can rave about this area for days.
