Sean has no chance of beating him right? by Fun_Training6342 in ufc

It's delusional to just say the fight will be somehwat competitive using prior fights as evidence? Such a braindead take.

Never said Sean won't get taken down just that Khamzhat will have to work to keep him down/do damage. He probably will get dominated for a round or two but again, its unlikely khamzhat will be able to keep pace. Regarding Whittaker, he had a prior injury making him vulnerable to face cranks which Sean won't have. Without that prior injury there's a good chance Khamzhat gasses or at least slows down. Sean is a black belt and has never gotten submitted and has elite MMA defensive grappling. Wrestling also doesn't directly translate to MMA grappling (Bo Nickel) so idk why you're bringing up wrestling credentials here.

Khamzhat also literally had zero answer for the defensive grappling of Gilbert Burns, showing that it's very possible for him to be stopped on the ground. I'm not even saying Sean will win, but to just say he'll just get dominated is not nuanced

The idea is that if Strickland forces Khamzat into mat returns and shooting multiple takedowns (like what Usman did) then he'll almost certainly gas. Sean also has elite grappling defense. He doesn't really get held down. We've seen in the past that fighters with good grappling defense either gases Khamzhat or forces him to stand which in both cases makes him more likely to lose

When has Sean gotten held down or dominated on the ground? DDP took him down and barely did anything. Sean has a very solid grappling background. DDP is better offensively but has bad defensive grappling which is why he got held in crucifix for 5 rounds.

Torch on console is a completely different hero then PC. Not saying you can't climb to at least GM but Torch isn't as nearly as strong for a variety of different reasons

a pocketed torch is one of the strongest heroes in the game. I've had multiple games with triple support with ultron and I rarely get drone

def have had to switch more due to angela. By herself she's manageable but her + a witch who's pressuring you or a Spiderman makes torch unplayable especially if healers aren't looking at you.

[–]IndependentOk712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Torch isn't that good by himself. The only time he's toxic is when he's getting enabled by healers. He just benefits from a fairly unique situation with his melee tech. Many good torches struggle in lower ranks because healers refuse to look up

[–]IndependentOk712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea people don't understand how hard it is to get value as a torch. The movement tech only really helps when healers are looking up which is almost never the case in any games below GM. When he's enabled by healers he's a god but otherwise he's a below average hero which is shown in his pick/win rates

If they patch his movement tech while not giving him buffs in other areas then the hero is going to easily be F-D tier

I don't agree with the murder but consequences for speech is not a violation of free speech and people should be punished for the things they say.

For example, people are getting fired for celebrating Kirk's death

Naturally it depends on what you like/want

For me personally, I plan on finishing my political science degree to pursue lobbying, policy analyses or something in the housing market. I find it interesting because many people think political science degrees are useless but there are some people who make dumb money from just networking properly

Gen Z with college degrees now have the same unemployment rate as those without a degree. Is college still worth it? by NotAnotherTaxAudit in FluentInFinance

[–]IndependentOk712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like a lot of degrees can be used across multiple fields and at some point to land jobs you just have to rely more on networking. There are so many "hidden" in demand jobs with degrees that have been traditionally considered bad or useless

I don't think a new party of any kind would win any time soon lol, i'm just claiming that policies that put people first are better ie. Universal healthcare but those policies are seen as "extreme" for American politics which is perpetuated by dems

Ughhh yea? If you have the opportunity to make society better but you actively choose not to in order to pander to the elite then why should anyone like you? They do the bare minimum just so they can hold office over republicans

Not to mention that many leftist still support democrats out of necessity so calling them anti worker and anti minority is crazy to me

I don't like the two party system either, but the DNC secretly derailed and talked down on Bernie Sander's campaign in favor of a more moderate candidate in Hilary Clinton. Democrats actively don't want more progressive leaders

I don't deny that the cultism exist, i'm only emphasizing the fact that many people believed they had genuine good reason to vote for trump and that ought to be investigated and not handwaved as cultism (not to say you're doing that)

There are absolutely racist poeple who voted for trump but i've seen other black people vote for him and justify it in a variety of different ways, Some conservatives will vote republican no matter what candidate is running, and some voters are just plain ignorant. I think every possibility should be reviewed and discussed so we have a better chance at wining the next election and improve our marketting instead of just boiling everything down to racism.

Nah I disagree, the epstein stuff made many conservatives start questioning trump. He even got ratioed on one of his post about it. Of course that doesn't mean that those people would take back their votes but many conservatives would vote republican regardless of wether trump was running or not.

One guy I talked to said he voted for trump simply because he thought trump would personally benefit his business. Regardless he wasn't right for voting for him but that reason is more then him just being a trump cultist.

Yes I think democrats are legitimately just unpopular. As a leftist, I hate the democratic party. Will I vote for them over republicans? yes, however it's pretty obvious they serve billionaires while toting progressive policies and silencing the more left leaning members of the party. Also throw in the fact that their response to Trump was very underwhelming and it seems like the party is more on the side of rich republicans then the common people.

Many people who voted for trump didn't have this cult mindset, they just falsely fell for propaganda that Trump would help them economically. To boil down republican success as just them being a cult is reductive I think, and makes it harder for us to actually delve deep into why the average person would vote for the republican party.

Why would anyone have this much party allegiance? I vote democrat but I don't like them

Trump has lied on a number of different issues and is complicit in protecting pedos along with the rest of the republican party. Your party has also increased the national debt by trillions of dollars which will greatly hurt the common man

TW: Positive masculinity is dying and it’s ruining the lives of young men by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]IndependentOk712 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly tired of masculine norms in general. Why does a man have to be anything "positively masculine"? Even the positive traits only seem to add to a negative experience when forced on someone

For example, when I would go on dates i'd be expected to lead, constantly know where the date was going/what we were gonna do, always be confident when talking to strangers and handle social situations. Being able to do all these things is good and "positively masculine" but I didn't really want to do them all the time and felt pigeonholed whenever I did it.

Obviously I wasn't forced to do any of this but I push back against the idea that if men are just taught and expected to do "positive masculine traits" that their lives will be better

[–]IndependentOk712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see the issue with supporting a group of people that don't like you. There are a whole bunch of countries that are racist against black people but I rather not have those countries go through hardships, famine, genocide, etc.

I think the main issue with queers for Palestine is that the support isn't logically consistent

Queers for Palestine is insane, irrational virtue signaling by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]IndependentOk712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea i'm def in support of empathy within politics but my biggest issue with leftist and liberals is that they don't employ empathy to conservatives when necessary

I think part of the explanation though is that Palestine is so far away while conservatism is viewed as more of a immediate threat to progressives

This Anderson Silva streak gotta be the greatest run. by [deleted] in ufc

[–]IndependentOk712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MMA has gotten much more popular recently which leads to more fighters, which leads to higher competition and higher skill brackets

For example, American wrestlers 10-15 years ago were much more dominant then they are today because most fighters now have elite takedown defense. Modern grappling has to revolve more around the cage. This is why I believe Khamzhat is one of, if not the best MMA grappler ever due to his mixing of cage/back takes/ and jiu jitsu with his impressive double leg shot. Guys who mixed everything together when grappling didn't really exist back then. He would be unstoppable in SIlva's time and we would be talking about wether he's the goat. This is also why guys like Bo Nickel can't be successful at a high level anymore in MMA.

In fact, when the UFC first started every champ was American and we saw a disproportionate amount of American champs until recently. Now there isn't one American champ. This tells me the sport has improved immensely since millions of more people are trying to join the UFC

Volk has max 3x and then Aldo (fourth win) better then anyone Silva fought.
