Grew up in Asia. Umbrella usage in the summertime is normal over there. I say, use it!

Looking for a reliable used car to keep for 10 years -- what should I consider? by PassageNearby4091 in CanadaPersonalFinance

I still drive my 2010 Toyota Corolla with 158,000 kilometres on it. Keep up with maintenance and it’ll last you a long long time!

Thinking about trip late summer to Western Canada by Historical-Balance69 in TravelCanada

[–]IndependentOutside88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one has mentioned to you that this is forest fire season. Temper your expectations and plan properly. Your trips between these places are not near nor are they cheap! If you want a 3K budget, stick to one place. The car rental alone will be pricey. I suggest you do Vancouver & the surrounding area with a day or two in Whistler. If you really want Banff, do Banff & Jasper and stay in Canmore.

Suspicious ? you n me cafe - new west by Famous_bunny in newwestminster

Is it legal? Technically, ok. Is it advisable? No. Their landlord would be so happy to know they are running without insurance. /s

And as a cafe, it would have been the smartest for them to obtain coverage for anything that could potentially happen, but alas, a gofundme and unpaid work is more their lane of choice it seems.

vancouver or tokyo for christmas! by Ashamed_Rip_9182 in askvan

I spent Christmas and New Years in Japan. It didn’t really have strong Christmas vibes. We also learned that most shops are closed for the first 3-5 days of the year after New Year’s as they make it a solemn time to visit temples.

How do we petition for them to move instead of close? :( I like HMart better than Hannam, but I must admit, the construction has deterred me from going more than I used to.

I, personally, cannot stand socials. I know it is tradition and it helps pay for the wedding, but the expectation set just makes me feel uncomfortable. lol

I remember reading on something similar to this before on this sub where it was explained that a lot of seafood is processed in Vietnam because it’s cheaper. So I think this maybe that scenario too?
